There are many considerations when installing yacht systems:
Functionality: The installation should allow the system to run at it’s peak performance.
Space: We look for locations with the least impact on useable space while also allowing for future service of system.
Aesthetics: Our goal is always to make the system look like it was included in the design of the boat.

Struggling to balance 115v loads on your split phase generator?

We’re installing a Victron Autotransformer to eliminate this issue on a new trawler.
By powering the transformer with two 115v lines from the genset (230v), we can pull widely uneven loads from the two 115v outputs of the transformer, while having the load on the two inputs be perfectly balanced.

On this vessel, we have a 50A service for air conditioning and a 30A service for the house loads.

We are installing solar panels to aid charging during extended anchoring. We install a Victron SmartSolar Charge Controller for each PV array to maximize efficiency of each panel. Other advantages are redundancy and easy monitoring and troubleshooting of the panels and charge circuits.
