2021 Subaru WRX clutch job

2008 Nissan Altima came in with some suspension noise and a/c concern. Looks like it was riding on the original suspension so we updated for it to be safe to drive. The a/c got an evac and recharge and ee got it blowing nice and cold.

2013 Scion XB came in with an oil consumption concern. We did follow factory oil consumption guidelines but unfortunately it did not make the minimum mileage for inspection when it began giving the customer issues as the consumption was severe. We then performed a cylinder leak down test that surprisingly resulted in “acceptable” leakage, we proceeded to do a compression test that was also “acceptable” until we performed a wet compression test that showed a significant increase in compression that explaind why it was burning oil. Not only that but there was scoring on the cylinder walls. The maxcare warranty the customer parchased when they purchased the vehicle did cover a greater cost of the repairs. The customer was only responsible for the preventative maintenance items we recommended at no additional labor cost since we were already there along with their deductable. The vehicle now runs and drives a lot smoother and will be a great commuter vehicle.

2000 4Runner Limited customer stated they noticed the coolant reservoir would go empty but had no signs of coolant leaks. They wanted it inspected since they live in the mountains and it was their own vehicle. We performed a block test and it failed so we proceeded with a cooling system pressure test and inspected all cylinders for coolant. We found coolant in cylinder 5, an odd find since most of the time coolant would be found in one of the center cylinders when a bad head gasket or cylinder head is found. The customer approved tear down and inspection to find the cause. To our surprise one of the head bolts on the #5 cylinder was broken, the machine shop did find a crack between the valves on the same head so we had to source one out. Luckily we found a head and we were able to extract the broken bolt allowing us to put it all back together and have it running a lot smoother leaving it in an over all better condition.
