Cavender Auto Family is proud to support Guardian House through their 2025 Backpack Drive, donating 100 backpacks to children in nearby elementary and middle schools. Guardian House, founded in 1997, supports children and families navigating high-conflict divorce by providing a safe, stable environment.

We’re proud to share that two recipients from the Cavender Auto Family have been awarded the 2025 San Antonio Auto Dealers Scholarship—each receiving $1,500 from SADA and a matching $1,500 from Cavender.

Sophie Vadachkoria, daughter of David Vadachkoria (Toyota Sales), is a UTSA Honors College student majoring in Construction Science and Management. She’s been on the Presidential and Dean’s Lists and managed two major multifamily construction projects.

Mercedes Laboy, daughter of Daniel Pena (IT), is headed to Columbia College Chicago to study Musical Theatre. A Cum Laude graduate, she’s earned national theatre honors and a Dean’s Scholarship, and will train this summer with NYC’s Open Jar Institute.

Congrats to both students and their families on this well-deserved recognition!

Cavender Auto Family members joined The Rotary Club of San Antonio in creating the 28th Kingdom for Kids at the Autism Community Center, building a state-of-the-art playground, and creating inspiring murals and beautiful landscaping. Our people are Making Kindness Happen alongside volunteers from City Year, The Harvey E. Najim Charitable Foundation, and many members of The Rotary Club of San Antonio.

Our volunteers included Ben Maples, Herman Salas, Lillian Ellard, Rosey Villagomez, Theresa Aguilar, and several of their family members and friends.
