I had a pretty difficult volunteer job tonight judging, The 10th Hill Country’s Got Talent show supporting the Boerne Community Theatre (celebrating their 35th anniversary.) Nikki Young & Baron Wiley were my fellow judges & thank goodness they were professionals at their job because while I was finally excited to be able to JUDGE someone & not feel bad about it, it turns out, I felt awful 😳😂. I was terrible about picking a winner, all 15 of the acts were fabulous. That being said, Congratulations to the winners & every single person that got up on stage tonight. Thank you also to all the donors & volunteers who made the event successful. Also Thanks to Trish, the CEO of the Boerne Community Theatre for asking me to be a part of this incredibly fun event. Well done.

I got a Bible Verse to tell me I should donate behind closed doors. Yeah, I do that all the time! I never planned on announcing the 2 kids we sponsored for hearing aids but CEO Emma Faye Rudkin asked if she could film us hearing about the stories of the kiddos we helped because she wanted to launch the “sponsor a kid,” program during the month of September which is Deaf Awareness month. I first told her it wasn’t necessary to thank me in that fashion but she felt it would be helpful to get things going. So we agreed! Then we were so moved by the stories that we involved our Ancira General Managers and decided to give away $50 a vehicle. I am hoping this effort will help another 22-24 kids on the waiting list. When I last checked though there were 37 on that list. Sharing this as part of Emma’s plan is to make more folks aware & help us clear the list so kids can thrive in school. I do not do this with every nonprofit, not so I feel the need to. But if there is a chance to inspire someone else, let’s go!!! I can’t tell you the number of donations that have been made to nonprofits because I posted about them and the initiatives they have. Then there is also educating people on their mission. In this case Maybe you know a kiddo who needs hearing aids & Medicaid isn’t covering them. I’m pretty sure our Father in Heaven is quite ok with my post, I am sorry you are not. Now let’s go get some hearing aids.

Jason & I sponsored 2 kiddos & fully funded their hearing aids (which is at reduced pricing through aid the silent,) & the team came by to tell us who we helped. Due to recent changes in Medicade not everyone is covered now & so they have a large waiting list. So between the stories & the need Jason & I found ourselves chasing down Emma & her team as they were leaving the parking lot to tell them we wanted to donate $50 a vehicle sold in September at every Ancira store. Half way through the month we have raised enough to help 12 more kiddos & can’t wait to keep adding to that total. Thank you Aid the Silent.

Heads up if you are Active Military & at some point in the near future will be heading back to civilian life. GM has a program to provide training for those interested in becoming technicians. Seasoned technicians can make up to 6 figures & there is a major tech shortage so dealers will fight over you 😃. Please note you must sign up while you are still active. In a wild twist of fate a alumni (John from class of 88) was sitting behind us at the Women’s US Open Tennis Finals. He noticed I was watching the game on my phone. What a small world!

I might be at the US open tennis tournament. Don’t judge my outfit, it looks better in person.. but still like a tourist. Bucket list gift for Christmas from the hubby. We have different seats for different matches. Today the seats Jason original bought were destroyed in a renovation, so our seats now are fold out chairs right in front of a walk way thumbs 👍🏻. This may be the best goof ever, No one is in front of us or behind us, our chairs are padded & I have easy access in & out. We are closer than the photos look & it’s amazing. If these are fold up chairs you think I can just pick them up and put them down wherever 😄
