Intermountain R/C Raceway is located in Salt Lake City, UT near the Oquirrah mountains just south of highway 21. For over 27 years, the Intermountain Raceway has been the premier indoor off-road track in Utah. Besides the indoor off-road dirt track, we also have a recently re-surfaced outdoor on-road track. The April Fools Classic is one of the do not miss races in the country with top name drivers from around the country attending each year. In addition to the raceway, IRCR is a full-fledged hobby shop offering a large inventory of parts consistent with most retail hobby shops. If you can't find what you need we will gladly order it for you. We purchase from local and national distributors with a quick turn around, in some cases we can get your item the same day.

🚧 Track Rebuild Weekend Schedule Update 🚧

This weekend, September 5th–7th, we’ll be rebuilding the off-road track in preparation for the Off-Road State Championship. Because of the rebuild, we’ll have a few schedule changes for the week:

-Mini-Z racing will move from Friday to Tuesday evening, with racing starting at 7 PM.
-On-road racing will be canceled on Saturday 9/5.
-Off-road racing will move from Saturday to Friday evening, with racing starting at 7 PM.
-Oval racing for Sunday 9/6 will be canceled.

Thank you for your patience while we get the track rebuilt and ready for the State Championship. We’re excited to bring you a fresh layout and get everything dialed in for race weekend!

We’ve got a new way for racers to help shape the track at Rocky Mountain RC Raceway!

We now have track design sheets available at the shop for both our off-road track and Mini-Z RCP track. Grab a sheet, put your name on it, and draw up the layout you’d like to see us run.

Want something fast and flowing? Technical and tight? A little bit of both? Show us what you’ve got.

If we choose your layout and put it on the track, you’ll receive FREE RACING for the first week that your layout is in place.

Sheets are available at the track, so next time you’re here, grab one and start designing. We’re excited to see what everyone comes up with!

We’ve had a lot of questions about classes and the schedule for the Utah Off-Road State Championship, and we’ve also heard several requests for additional classes.

There has been strong interest in adding Masters divisions for 2WD Buggy in 21.5, 17.5, and Modified, along with a Vintage Buggy class.

With the schedule we originally planned, adding all four of those classes would make it very difficult to complete the entire program in one day. So we’re going to leave the decision up to the racers.

Option 1: Add all four requested classes, start racing later on Saturday at 10 AM, and plan to finish part of the program on Sunday.

Option 2: Keep the class list and format as originally announced, start racing at 8 AM Saturday, and continue until the program is complete.

We want to build the event around what the majority of racers would prefer, so let us know which option you want to see! In the comments, please like the option that you would like to see: option 1 or option 2. Voting will be finalized by Monday, 8/30/2026 at 0900.

🌦️ SATURDAY ON-ROAD RACING UPDATE 🌦️

We’ve had several people asking about tomorrow’s on-road racing with the cooler weather and rain chances in the forecast.

As of right now, WE ARE STILL PLANNING TO RACE! 🏁

🚪 Doors open at 8:00 AM
🏁 Racing scheduled for 10:00 AM

The forecast is showing scattered chances of rain throughout the day, but we may still have plenty of opportunities to get racing in.

Our plan is simple: show up and we’ll work with the weather. If the track is dry, we race. If we need to wait out a shower or adjust the schedule a little, we’ll do our best to work around it.

We’d rather give racing a chance than cancel based on a forecast alone.

So bring your cars, maybe bring a jacket, and we’ll see what August in Utah decides to give us tomorrow. 😅🏁
