MYTH vs FACT (Cody’s Garage edition).

A lot of “car advice” is just old rules that don’t always apply anymore. Saving money is good—guessing is expensive.

Which one have you heard the most: warm it up forever, premium gas fixes everything, “it starts so it’s fine,” or “I can make it home overheating”? 👇

Utah weather can go from “nice drive” to “why won’t it start” real quick.

A LITTLE SHOP PSA: before the first really cold morning, take 2 minutes and check these:

Battery (especially if it’s 3–5 years old)

Tire pressure (cold air drops PSI)

Coolant level/condition (you want proper mix, not just water)

Defrost weak or musty? Cabin air filter might be the culprit

What’s the first thing that gives you trouble when the temp drops—battery, tires, or the dreaded mystery light?

That's why diagnosis matters. You have to look at the whole picture—what the vehicle is doing, what changed, what doesn't make sense, and what the evidence is actually telling you.
