A serious collision involving a motorcycle and a silver Buick occurred in Salinas this afternoon which left both motorcycle riders in critical condition.
Around 3pm today the driver of a gray Buick made a left turn directly in front of an oncoming motorcycle. The driver of the Buick had a flashing yellow arrow and failed to yield to the oncoming traffic. The motorcyclist did not have time to avoid the collision.
Both motorcycle riders were transported to a local hospital where they remain in critical condition.
This crash happened at the intersection of E. Laurel Drive and Linwood Drive. The roadway was closed for a number of hours while our traffic officers investigated this collision.
This incident is a reminder to slow down, look twice, and yield before making left turns across traffic. A few extra seconds can save a life.
