Table Rock State Park is part of the "gateway" system to the Jocassee Gorges - it's where visitors can begin to experience the waterfalls, trails, rare plant habitats, and rocky ridges that make up the wild Gorges. Most of the area is inaccessible but these gateways can help provide people with a glimpse into the beauty of the gorges and want to work to protect it.

If you are so inspired by the beauty of the Jocassee Gorges, we would love to have you as members of Friends of Jocassee so you can help us to protect and conserve this gorgeous area for generations to come! Become a member here: https://friendsofjocassee.org/get-involved/

🐟 are biting at the lake!

The trout bite is 🔥. Limited out this morning and got a nice bass too! Biggest of the day was a nice 4lb rainbow.

**Not a boring storage container**

After 15 years of existence, Friends of Jocassee finally has their own storage unit! While this box may seem like an insignifcant and absolutely boring item, it is actually essential to the work we do to protect, preserve, and promote the Jocassee Gorges.

As you might imagine, we've accumulated quite a bit of things that we need throughout the year - supplies and materials for membership, Adopt a Highway, BellFest, Paddle Splash, VIP Day, our Annual Meeting, and Jocassee Santa.

Thanks to support from members like you, we were able to purchase an 8' x 20' storage container to hold all of our inventory. We were also able to purchase a similar storage container for Devils Fork State Park. On May 31st, several board members moved everything into the storage unit and organized it for easy access in the future (that’s the photo above). Thanks to for letting us store our inventory in one of their unused bathrooms since our founding in 2012!

Please pick up your trash - and whatever else it is you bring to the lake 👒.

We took this off the shoreline and into the trash.

Part of our mission is education about the Jocassee Gorges and this is a big reason why. We also host a large litter cleanup in September at this park every year. We hope you can join us!

Have you hiked Stool Mountain yet at Table Rock State Park? It is absolutely stunning - but there's not a lot of canopy coverage as you near the top so be sure to take enough water!

Who knows what this is and why it's so interesting?

We found a couple of them recently on a hike very close to the Jocassee Gorges.

Twin Falls is one of the easiest waterfalls to access in the Jocassee Gorges! It's a short hike, under a mile roundtrip if you use the lower trail, and you get to see a double waterfall.

Please remember to take out your own trash, never litter, and enjoy the beauty of the trail.
