Position Title: Diesel Repair Technician
Location: Salem, OR
Job Type: Full and Part-Time
Wage Range: $25 to $50 an hour
Responsibilities:
Perform diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repairs on diesel engines, including but not limited to fuel systems, electrical systems, cooling systems, and emissions control systems.
Conduct routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, filter replacements, and fluid checks.
Use diagnostic equipment and tools to identify and resolve mechanical issues efficiently.
Disassemble and reassemble engines and components as necessary for repair or replacement.
Ensure all repairs are performed according to manufacturer specifications and industry standards.
Document all work performed, including parts used, labor hours, and diagnostics findings.
Maintain a clean and organized work area and adhere to safety protocols at all times.
Communicate effectively with customers regarding repair recommendations, timelines, and cost estimates.
Qualifications:
-Technical knowledge of diesel vehicles and equipment systems.
-Experience working on diesel-powered vehicles and equipment.
-Ability to learn and use scan tool equipment for diagnosis and repair.
-Strong judgment and decision-making skills with attention to detail.
-Interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate effectively with management and co-workers.
-Additional Qualifications Desired:
Current CDL.
Prior ASE Training or Certification.
Welding and Fabrication Skills/Experience.
