The year was 1986.

Top Gun was in theaters, cassette tapes were everywhere, and at J&J Amusements, we were already working on electric go-karts.

Take a look through our Spring 1986 J&J Recreation Newsletter and you’ll get a glimpse of what we were designing, building, and thinking about nearly 40 years ago.

A lot has changed since then, the karts, batteries, electronics, and technology but some things haven’t changed at all.

We’re building commercial amusement equipment in Salem, Oregon, still looking for ways to make our products better, and still focused on the same things that have guided us for decades:
