Turns out running a busy shop and remembering to post on Facebook at the same time is harder than rebuilding a diesel engine…but we’re back.
Starting our first ‘Fast Friday’ with a new engine replacement we completed back in November on a 2005 Peterbilt 379.
The biggest project on this truck was a full replacement for a long block cummins engine, along with a clutch, radiator, air compressor, fuel actuator, alternator, intake manifold, and oil cooler installed all to top it off with a 78mm turbo that produced a whopping 604 horsepower at the wheels on the dyno.
Outside of the engine replacement, this Pete also got new fuel lines, exhaust work done, cab air bags, rear drive bushings and steer axle bushings repaired, some lighting work, a boost and pyrometer gauge installed, windshield replacement, a set of hogebuilt half fenders, a custom painted hood fender courtesy of Andy’s Auto Repair out of Butterfield, MN, completing it with an alignment and DOT inspection.
She’s gets up and goes now and will have no problems getting the all the piggies where they need to go, all while looking sharp doing it.
