💙 A little more about River City Adventures and how this all started.
I wanted to share a little of the story behind River City Adventures, because there has been a lot of work happening behind the scenes that many people may not know about.
River City Adventures is a community program through River City AutoHaus, created because we wanted to use our business to do something positive for the kids and families in our community.
The idea was inspired in part by Dominate the Dunes, an organization doing some amazing work giving kids and families the opportunity to experience outdoor adventures.
I've been working with the Dominate the Dunes team for quite some time to explore bringing an event like this to Saint Helens and Columbia County. We've talked through everything from safety and volunteers to vehicles, routes, logistics, and what it would take to make an experience like this work here.
Over time, that idea grew into River City Adventures.
Our goal is simple: create free, memorable outdoor experiences for local kids and families, especially those who may not otherwise have the opportunity to participate.
We want kids to be able to get outside, try something new, experience a little adventure, build confidence, and make memories with their families — without cost being the thing that keeps them from participating.
We've been putting a lot of time, energy, and heart into making this happen. We're continuing to build relationships with organizations and community members who want to help make these experiences possible.
And while it's been interesting to see similar ideas beginning to emerge locally, we believe there is plenty of room for people to give back and create positive experiences for our community. At the end of the day, it's about the kids — and that's where we want to keep our focus. ❤️
We're incredibly grateful for everyone who has supported this idea, volunteered their time, donated, made connections, or simply encouraged us along the way.
River City Adventures is our way of giving back through River City AutoHaus and investing in the community we call home.
We're excited to see where this goes and hope you'll follow along as we continue building it. 🌲🏔️💙
🌲 What is River City Adventures? ❤️
We’re working on something close to our hearts 💕 creating outdoor adventures specifically for foster families in our community.
Our goal is to give kids and families a chance to step away from the everyday stress and simply have fun, spend time together, and make positive memories.
We’ll bring families out for a day of SxS riding, outdoor adventure, food, and time together. Families don’t need to own an SxS or have any riding experience. Our volunteer drivers provide the vehicles and help make the experience safe and welcoming.
We’re working with local organizations to help connect with families who could benefit from the program, and we’re starting small with hopes of growing it into something we can offer regularly.
The SxS is the adventure, but the kids are the reason. ❤️
If you’d like to volunteer, sponsor, donate, or simply help us spread the word, we’d love to have you be part of it!
