Who wants ice cream?🍦 to this pair of 1925 Kenworth delivery trucks owned by Seattle Ice Cream.
Back when these trucks were new to Seattle Ice Cream's company fleet, fast delivery and speed were of the utmost importance. There was no mechanical refrigeration, so a perishable commodity such as ice cream had to be rushed to retail outlets. Just as it is today, Kenworth was the truck for fast, dependable transportation. These trucks operated at speeds of 15 to 20 miles per hour, running on hard rubber tires across brick roads. At a time when most trucks had 3-speed transmissions, Kenworth was producing trucks with a 4-speed.
