Yesterday, the Saginaw Township Crime Prevention Unit hosted our first Vehicle Theft Prevention Partnership Program meeting.
This meeting brought together area dealerships, law enforcement partners, and other officials with one shared goal: preventing vehicle theft before it happens and improving how we respond when it does.
Vehicle theft is not just a property crime. Stolen vehicles are often connected to other crimes, including violent crimes. When we work together to prevent vehicles from being stolen, we also help take transportation away from criminals and make our communities safer.
This program is designed to build an intelligence sharing network between law enforcement and our local dealerships so we can better share information, identify trends, improve prevention efforts, and conduct future operations aimed at reducing vehicle theft throughout Saginaw Township, Saginaw County, and surrounding areas.
We sincerely appreciate our partnership with the Genesee Auto Theft Investigation Network (GAIN) the Saginaw Police Department, and the dealership representatives who showed up to support this effort, including:
Gales General Service Center
Serra Chevrolet of Saginaw
Wilson Ford Lincoln
Garber Chevrolet Saginaw
Garber Buick
McDonald Auto Group
Auto Brite Used Cars
Saginaw Police Department
Midland Police Department Michigan
Your insight, cooperation, and willingness to be part of the solution helps make this program stronger from day one.
Partnerships like this are exactly how prevention works.
Please, don’t do crime.
