Taken in the early 2000s, this photo of Mr. J.N. Walpole and Mr. J.D. Caver captures two hardworking North Louisiana businessmen and a friendship built over many years.

Most of the year, they were customers, colleagues and good friends. But when the annual Ronald McDonald mini-cart races rolled around, friendship apparently took a brief pit stop to see who would win the checkered flag!

At Walpole Tire & Service, we are proud of the relationships that have carried us through generations of customers who became friends, friends who became family and, occasionally, friendly competitors who settled things on the racetrack.

70 Years on the Road with Walpole Tire & Service

This photo was taken shortly after Walpole Tire & Service opened in 1956, right along the railroad tracks in Ruston, Louisiana.

That same year, America was entering a new era of movement. The interstate highway system was beginning to reshape the country. Families were taking more road trips. Small towns were growing. Businesses like this one became trusted stops for the people who kept America moving.

Over the past 70 years, Walpole Tire & Service has seen a lot of history roll by. From Rock & Roll, the space race, the moon landing, the rise of computers, cell phones, GPS, the internet age, and countless changes in the way we live, work, and travel.

But through all of that change, some things have stayed the same.

As America celebrates 250 years, we’re proud to look back on 70 years of Walpole Tire & Service being part of this community’s story.

From the railroad tracks in 1956 to the roads we travel today thank you for letting us serve generations of drivers.
