History repeats itself .. approx1990 -1993 all brake jobs were guarantee to squeal & it was common to go through two or three starters or alternators before you got one that worked ..
it was so bad manufacturers provided free food and technical seminars in efforts to convince repair facilities they were incompetent . that batteries had to be changed with every starter & alternator.. and that every break job had to have calipers and rotors ..
15 years later, 2005
Vendors sourcing from the (few remaining ) cheapest manufacturers & reboxing parts under every brand name. Apparently affecting shareholders…
part vendors having no apparent resolution for sourcing quality parts,
are forced to address the 20% warranty part returns on parts that aren’t faulty
Vendors no longer warranty starters, alternators, or batteries that passed their
(limited, off vehicle static) non-certified testing with
70% accuracy ,
that won’t detect intermittent faults, or faults occurring at operating temperature , resulting in many faulty part warranties wrongly denied .
repair facilities are struggling with customer satisfaction, & warranty labor cost , resulting in many repair facilities, offering limited or no labor warranty on failed aftermarket parts & in many cases recommending More more OEM dealer parts..
Just saying our part pros have the best intentions&
the wheels would stop turning without our local parts stores that are required to be 100% efficient with limited employees , sourcing, parts from wherever it takes if they don’t have it… free counseling services .. compensation payment Assistance for situations they weren’t at fault four or had control over
Bottom line ! Our supply chain is a disaster. This the reason planes are falling out of the sky.
