Being in Dallas, I am incredibly fortunate to work on an incredibly diverse array of cars. The exposure to diverse machinery has made me really well rounded on projects like this, which require a delicate touch. An incredibly original car, this 1971 Pontiac GTO 455 HO needed a balanced and researched approach to yield the correct result.

This customer wanted a full dry ice cleaning, and updated finishes on the underbody, so the car was more durably and consistently protected; doing this right means the car doesn’t look unoriginal or over restored. It’s a fine line to walk, but I think we nailed it here.

With a specific eye on a chassis and suspension rejuvenation in the spirit of the OEM finishes, the full chassis, drivetrain, and suspension was dry ice cleaned before the frame, suspension, rear axle, and front subframe were repainted with chassis paint. Since these parts and surfaces were originally only coated in a temporary undercoating from the factory, the chassis paint mimicked the original finish in texture and sheen, while offering a considerably more durable and maintenance friendly finish. All the factory paint markings and notations were retained from the original chassis, leaving it looking like an assembly line fresh example.

The OEM Porsche Slant Nose Turbo is a pretty rare thing. There are lots of mimics out there, but few real ones. Of those real ones, few are low mileage and mega clean, so when you get one, you take notice.

After a recent glass-out respray from , this fantastic example came to me to take its mid-life transformation all the way.

When the first customer comment is “You clearly take pride in your work”, I think the job is done.

Every inch of this was cleaned and freshened as much as possible. All the factory details like paint marks and original belly pan overspray were maintained, highlighting the amazing condition of this special car.

Things are only original once, so knowing your car and history, understanding what makes that originality matter, and carefully executing what’s necessary on a special car like this, separates good from great. Everything is Important.

Thanks to Tim at Red Car, this fantastic owner, and for giving me this fantastic opportunity and amazing head start on this special machine.

Non-April Fools Update: Updates and posts may be few and far between, but I’m here and I’m busy every day. I am just not great at sharing.

If you have a project you want more than clean, but brought back to its showroom fresh condition, I’m here.

I had a customer reach out recently who is looking to do a light underbody restoration on a Shelby GT500KR. It’s an all original, 2 owner car, and the new (2nd ever) owner wants to do a light refresh while maintaining the originality and integrity of the car.

It reminded me of this ORIGINAL OWNER 1967 Chevrolet Camaro RS I did a while back. While this car has had a repaint and light restoration, the underbody hadn’t been touched.

It needed a good cleaning, and I refinished all the raw steel components like the front subframe, front suspension, cross members, rear suspension, and rear axle. With an eye on longevity, the refinishing was done with Dinitrol 445, a rock chip protection and undercoating that leaves a really great satin and smooth finish.

Protecting these components in a similar fashion to the OEM dipped undercoating, which had long since failed, maintained that spirit of originality on the car, but refreshed it cosmetically while providing a significantly more advanced level of protection.

With the mix of dry ice cleaning and restorative options, 90% of the look and effectiveness of a full restoration can be accomplished at a fraction of the cost, all while keeping the car fully assembled and maintaining that original and unrestored quality.

Let me know if you have any questions on something similar. For owners of original, rare, classics, this is a fantastic option.

Everyone has seen these around and is familiar with them to some extent, but not many know the fine details of what makes these giant vehicles special.

Built and designed primarily for Military purposes, the level of overkill on the frame and suspension and drivetrain setup is beyond anything else I have worked on.

It was fun to clean and restore and highlight a lot of these unique components, especially because few people will get to see them in a detailed fashion, not caked in grease and mud and dirt.

This was a real challenge. It’s hard to get on a lift. It’s hard to clean without losing a lot of original finishes. The striking red really made the end result here just spectacular.

Definitely a fun project.

It’s strange how the universe lumps things together. Cars come to me in waves, I’ve never been sure why.

Whether it is square body trucks, Jeeps (duh), Shelbys, Corvettes, Supras, or Porsches, once one or two show up, more seem to materialize from the ether. This year, it has been about 930 Porsches.

While Porsche is always a thing here, the 930 in particular has been of note lately; I think I have done 10 this year so far.

Cherished for its originality, but not its lifetime accumulation of grease and dirt, the car came from Georgetown, TX to finish its metamorphosis. With fantastic original paint markings and factory overspray patterns, this car’s cherished history was evident once it was clean.

Cars of this condition are fun to work on, because they are an opportunity to really chase how good they can be. Even at 40+ years old, Porsche quality simply stands out and holds up. With this car I lightly touched up the fender wells with the factory color as well as small blemishes on suspension parts, but otherwise it was all about cleaning every seam and surface to return it to as close of a factory fresh condition as possible.

Thank You to everyone who shares my stuff and pushes my presence through the ether so it can find like minds, you guys keep things rolling through my doors and I’m grateful.

Share this too. It helps. Thanks everyone.

In an effort to get caught up with the crazy backlog of posts I need to make, here’s something I don’t do as often as I thought I would: something newer.

When I started this business, I figured a significant customer base would come from people that wanted a vehicle refresh. The concept I concept I came up with was “Assembly Line Clean.”

Low mile, well kept enthusiast cars bought second hand can be made brand new again, as clean as they were off the assembly line. I don’t get to do it often, but I enjoy it when I do. Here’s a fantastic example from this last April.

This Lexus RC-F was in an absolutely spellbinding color, INFRARED. It’s highly metallic and looked just incredible.

The underbody of this car was dirty from 20k miles of normal driving, but the high quality Toyota finishes really held up. After a thorough cleaning, complete exhaust refresh and muffler refinishing, and aluminum cleaning and brightening, the car left in a better than new condition.

Finished off with a full wheel and underbody ceramic coating, it was refreshed and protected for its new life with its new owner.

I’m so behind on social media. So behind.

When I get really busy, which I have been for months and months, something always falls by the wayside. Since I can’t let it be customer cars or their quality, or family stuff with sports and events and dinners, the thing that gets left behind is the stuff I’m the worst at.

I am bad at taking care of myself. I am bad at reaching out to friends and being a friend, and I am especially bad at social media.

So, since I’m making an effort to be better at those hard things, like taking getting back into shape, which at 44 feels so ridiculously difficult, reaching out to friends to simply be a friend, and promoting my actual business online, here are a few things I have finished lately that deserve notice.

Full posts will hopefully come on the 40-50 cars I have finished lately but not said anything about, but here is something at least.

1. Toyota Bandeirante - It’s Brazilian and weird. It’s like a Land Cruiser, but not all the way, and it has a 4cyl Mercedes Diesel and sounds like a tractor. It was cool, and finished out fantastically.
2. Pontiac GTO 455 HO - Fantastically clean. Fantastically Original. Going on BaT soon.
3. Jaguar E-Type - Great Car. Driver condition. Refinished all the fender wells in addition to a comprehensive cleaning. Great car.
4. Hummer H1 - Surprising underbody finishes. Looked incredible in red when everything was finished. Still hate the engine bay on these.
5. Barn Find Ferrari 512 BBi - Love these cars. This was found in Highland Park in a shed where it had been parked for 40 years. Previous owner did a major engine service, but couldn’t finish it, so he parked it without putting it all back together. It’s at Norwood now, where it will be turned into the driver it deserves to be.

Thanks to all my customers for keeping me so busy, I can’t share what I do with the rest of you. So much more to come.

2025 is going to be a year of positive changes. One down, one to go.

Huge thanks to Jason Howell and everyone else at for taking care of me. This is the 12th vehicle my family has gotten from him, and I really couldn’t ask for more. Fantastic experience, start to finish.

Specs: 2025 Ford F-250 / Tremor / 7.3L Godzilla V8 / Glacier Gray

I definitely have a Love/Hate relationship with Instagram.

I get a lot of business from here, it’s a great way to showcase my work and my business. But it definitely doesn’t work the way I wish it would.

I love car photography. I have loved it ever since I got my first car, and especially after I got my first real camera. I remember saving and using my entire tax return to buy my first Canon EOS 10D, which was the first real Digital SLR. I remember buying a 16gb Compact Flash for it for something like $300. I took a ton of good pictures with that camera, and I loved it.

I drew inspiration from and his incredible photo work. I couldn’t afford all the parts for my car, but I could keep taking pictures of mine and others, so it drew me more and more into the scene.

When I started my business, I tried to make it a component because I enjoy it. My work is all about fine details, and quality photography showcases that, and shows it to my customers. Having people see it matters… and it used to matter to Instagram.

Now, it’s all about video. Video is what the algorithm pushes and shows to not only my current followers, but new people. Photo carousels don’t get traction at all, most of my posts are viewed by less than 1/3rd of my followers., which sucks. So, I tried to do something different to show off the Red MKIV Supra, and I kind of hate it.

It didn’t get a lot of views, still, and it doesn’t show off the work either. So for all intents and purposes, it sucks for me.

So, here are the pictures of the Supra. Most of you won’t see them, but for those that do, I hope you share them with other people that will like them so the algorithm can pound sand.

The Original American Supercar.

I hadn’t cleaned one of these previously. I figured that my experience with various mid-engine Italian Exotics would have me properly prepared for what awaited; I was right and wrong.

It has a rear half clamshell like a Ferrari 512BBi. Its underbody cladding is very similar to a 355, but with more diffuser. Much more. It’s an aluminum framed car, like a Ferrari 360, but with a multilayered finish on the exposed panels. It was what I expected, and it wasn’t. Just like the original GT40, it’s inspired by things very Italian, but with an American twist.

The giant supercharged V8 is one example. A twist of the key is all it takes to remind you of bald eagles and Budweiser, rather than wine and pasta. The sound is 80s hair metal, not Italian Aria.

Diving deeper, the engineering shines through immediately. CNC machine lines are present on forged control arms and uprights. These aren’t cast aluminum pieces reminiscent of Porsche or Ferrari, these are special, and they look it.

Two sets of witness marks dot all the fasteners, the first time I’ve ever seen it on a production car. It’s clear these were assembled and checked, and then checked again. Redundancy is race car stuff, a clear and obvious nod to the heritage of this impressive machine.

With so much attention to detail going into the build of the car, it was fitting the same went into my undercarriage cleaning and restoration. Every surface, every finish, every bolt and hose and clamp and boot and nut returned to an assembly line condition.

Everything is Important.
