Factory paint is a lie. Active-duty adventure rigs like this brand-new 2025 Mercedes-Benz Thor Motor Coach Sanctuary 19P usually show up to the shop with a ton of hidden battle scars straight from the transit lot—heavy swirls, sanding marks, and dull spots all over those massive panels.

We didn’t just slap a coating over the mess and call it a day. We spent hours dialing it in.
We started with a multi-stage paint correction in some areas, doing some serious deep cutting on the problem areas to level out the deep defects and clarify the clear coat. Once the finish looked like glass, we locked it down with a serious Gyeon setup:
• Infinite Base Type 2 for permanent hardness and chemical resistance.
• Top Coat Type 2 for that slick, hydrophobic water-beading, extra + the final layer of Q2 Ceramic Wax.

Now this thing is ready for the real world. Dirt, mud, and trail grime are going to slide right off on its next off-grid trip.
Real protection is all about the prep work. If you don’t correct it first, you’re just sealing in the flaws.

Drop a comment—where are you taking this rig first? DM us to get your ride dialed in before your next road trip.
The standard, preserved. Gyeon.

Technical Brief: The Armor Works Surface Standard

At Armor Works Studio, we don’t believe in “one size fits all” protection. We have standardized our process on a dual-stage system that integrates two distinct chemical technologies to deliver a result that single-layer applications cannot match.

Phase 1: The Foundation (Infinite Base Type 2) The process begins with our classic, high-solids SiO2 based formula. By utilizing the highest concentration of SiO2 possible in a ceramic coating, Base Type 2 delivers a thick, robust layer of protection. This stage is responsible for:
• The “Wet Look”: Providing a deep, optical clarity that transforms the paint finish.
• Surface Resistance: Delivering exceptional performance against water spotting and environmental etching.

Phase 2: The Performance Layer (Infinite TopCoat Type 2) To reach the Elite standard, we integrate our latest fluoro-modified polysilazane technology. While the base provides the structural shield, TopCoat Type 2 is the ultimate tool for surface performance, delivering:
• Extreme Hydrophobics: Ultra-low surface energy that aggressively repels water and road grime.
• Surgical Slickness: A massive boost in physical slickness, reducing surface friction and making maintenance nearly effortless.
• Self-Cleaning Behavior: Ensuring your vehicle stays cleaner for longer by preventing contaminants from adhering to the surface.

The Result: A finish that possesses both the deep optical clarity of a high-solids SiO2 and the surgical slickness of a fluoro-modified top layer.

2026 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 | White Sands

This project received The Signature Foundation with the SBJ Elite upgrade. By combining Gyeon Infinite Base Type 2 with the Top Coat Type 2 module, we’ve pushed this metallic “White Sands” finish to its absolute limit.

The result is a level of depth and clarity that the factory finish simply can’t match, backed by a surgical slickness and world-class self-cleaning behavior. Beyond the paint, every surface was addressed—from the glass and trim to the interior cockpit—ensuring this Silverado is protected against the elements for years to come.

2026 BMW X5 | Carbon Black | The SBJ Signature Stack

There’s nothing quite like a BMW X5 in Carbon Black Metallic—when it’s treated right. We just finished the SBJ Signature Stack on this 2026 X5, taking it from “factory fresh” to “flawless.”

This isn’t just a coating; it’s a total transformation. We applied the signature Infinite Base Type 2 + Top Coat Type 2 combination, creating a deep, glass-like finish that makes that blue-black metallic flake absolutely pop.
Every surface, inside and out, is now protected by the best in the business.

Armor Works Studio Experience the Signature difference.

Why settle for just one type of protection? 🤔

For this Tesla Model Y, we chose a hybrid approach to give the owner the best of both worlds:

Physical Armor: The full front (bumper, hood, fenders, mirrors) is covered in Gyeon PPF. This is a literal “skin” for your car that heals itself and stops rocks from ruining your paint.

Chemical Shield: The rest of the vehicle is coated in Gyeon Infinite Base Type 1. This is to ensure the whole vehicle is completely protected.
Maximum protection. Minimum maintenance. That’s the Armor Works Studio way.

The Chemistry of a Clean Wheel: Gyeon Q²M Iron WheelCleaner Redefined

In the studio, proper maintenance starts with understanding the chemistry of contamination. High-performance braking systems generate white-hot iron particles that “shrapnel” into your wheels, bonding to the surface. Standard soaps can’t touch this; you need a dedicated chemical decontaminant.
Gyeon Q²M Iron WheelCleaner Redefined is engineered specifically for this “triage.”

• The Cling: The Redefined formula is more viscous than ever, meaning the gel stays on the vertical surfaces of the wheel barrels longer for maximum dwell time.
• The Reaction: As it hits the iron, it triggers a chemical “bleed.” That deep purple transformation isn’t just for show—it’s the visual indicator that the ferrous particles are being liquified and lifted.

• The Safety: Despite its power, it is pH-neutral and safe for all finishes, allowing for a surgical level of clean without the need for aggressive, abrasive scrubbing.

True preservation requires more than just a wash—it requires neutralizing the elements that cause permanent pitting and corrosion.

The wait is over, but the work never stops. 🏆

This post is long overdue, but I wanted to take a second to shout out .aps and the team at . If you’re serious about Paint Protection Film, you know that the difference between a “good” install and a “perfect” install is everything.

Training with the best in the business isn’t just about learning to squeegee; it’s about understanding surface tension, complex bulk installs, and the business strategies that actually scale. Eman’s approach to PPF training is easily the most comprehensive in the game—hands-on, high-stakes, and focused on total precision.

If you’re looking to level up your shop or your skills, don’t settle for the basics. Learn the craft from the people setting the industry standard.

The secret to a swirl-free finish? It starts with the right lubrication. 🧼✨

Next up in my car washing series, we’re talking about the contact wash. I’m using Gyeon Q²M Bathe, and here is why: it’s pH-neutral, high-suds, and incredibly slick.

When you’re moving a mitt across your paint, you want as little friction as possible to avoid those dreaded wash marks. Bathe lifts the dirt and lets it glide right off.
