If you’ve ever looked at the side of your tire and seen something like 225/60R16, you might have wondered what it all means. Here’s a quick breakdown:

225 = The width of your tire in millimeters.

60= The aspect ratio (the height of the sidewall is 65% of the tire’s width).

R = Radial construction (what almost every passenger vehicle uses today).

16= The size of the wheel (rim) in inches that the tire fits.

📍Example: 225/60R16

Knowing your tire size can make shopping for new tires much easier and helps ensure you’re getting the correct fit for your vehicle.
