I have a fully equipped shop for the purpose of creating military diorama scenes as well as free-standing models. I also specialize in dioramas of mostly World War Two, but will gladly model Vietnam and some earlier eras. The scales I specialize in are 1/48th and 1/35th as
they are the most available as well as most popular in all settings. Standards; All of my work is done with attention to detail, historical accuracy and keeps within "family viewable" guidelines, in other words fully clothed figures and no "bloody" battle scenes or other disturbing scenes or themes. I will immediately reject those types of orders without hesitation. I use all acrylic based products which include paints of all color schemes, diorama materials and weathering techniques. I will accept only those pre-paid deposit orders with the requirements that a non-refundable fee of $50.00 be received by myself prior to starting any work or ordering kits, this assures me that you are a serious customer. This fee will be applied to the initial cost of a kit or kits, accessories and other supplies that are required to complete an order upon agreement to start an order. No matter the circumstances the $50.00 shall remain non-refundable. Pricing; The prices are controlled by the kit(s) cost as set from which ever vendor I choose to order from and the shipping and handling that I have to incur. As stated the $50.00 fee will be applied to the initial cost and any additional costs will be passed onto the customer upon receipt of the kit or kits via invoice as good business practice. Payment on the additional cost is expected upon the receipt of the "build invoice" by the customer within 10 days prior to my starting the project. If at such the customer does not respond in such a manner as to explain not sending the fee as shown on said invoice, the project will not be started and the kit(s) become sole property of myself, the owner of "Hobbies in a Barn". The building and detailing of said kit(s), diorama or other such combination there of by written instructions provided by the customer shall be completed in due time but not as a "rush job", high quality work requires planning and consistent dedication to complete any project worth displaying. I do not hurry nor do I linger, my work is well known throughout the hobby community and viewable on various websites that I will gladly refer you to upon request. The price of quality work ranges from minimum building and detailing requirements of the customer all the way to the finest detailing with nothing left off as in the case of an aircraft with all the markings available. Pricing is set by such requests as my standards are exceedingly high and reflect that with no offset for detailing no matter the complexity of the project. An example would be that of a simple one figure mini diorama, completed in a certain time frame and counted upon to be expertly completed, such a project would generally cost $75-150 above the cost of the kit and material due to the nature of my time and level of expertise being the key to pricing. Payment; Payment shall be through PayPal for all payments including payment for the completed project made in full being the charge for the time and level of work needed to complete the project. Shipping and handling of the completed project shall be charged to the customer as noted by the current rates with no guarantee of the condition of the project as shipping is unpredictable however the project will be packed accordingly to assure as little damage possible.
