Quick question: when was your last oil change? 👇

If you can't remember, that's your sign. Fresh oil keeps your engine cleaner, cooler, and running longer, and it's one of the easiest things you can do to avoid bigger repair bills later.

That squeal isn't going away on its own. 🚗💨

Your serpentine belt runs your alternator, power steering, A/C, and on a lot of vehicles, your water pump. When it goes, you can lose all of that at once: heavy steering, a dead battery, and an engine that starts running hot.

The good news is that catching it early is quick and affordable. Waiting is what turns a cheap part into a tow truck call, usually at the worst possible time.

Hear it, see it, or just can't remember the last time someone looked? Stop by your nearest Chloe's for a quick belt check before it becomes a bigger problem.

That squeal you hear when you start your car in the morning?

Don't IGNORE it.

Nine times out of ten that's your serpentine belt telling you it's drying out or cracking, and once it's gone... it takes a lot with it. We're talking your charging system, power steering, and engine cooling all at once, since one belt runs all of it.

The GOOD NEWS is this one's easy to catch early.

Pop your hood and take a look at the belt ribs (the grooved side). If you see cracks running across them, or the belt looks glazed and shiny, it's on borrowed time. Squealing on cold starts is usually the first sign something's wearing thin.

If it's been a while since anyone's looked at yours, swing by and we'll check it in a few minutes while you wait. Cheaper to replace on YOUR schedule than on the side of the road on theirs!

Give us a call or schedule online this week if that startup squeal has been nagging at you!

A timing belt is one of those parts you probably never think about... until it breaks. And unfortunately, by then, the damage may already be done. 😬

We recently had a vehicle come into the shop after the timing belt snapped while the driver was on her way to work. On certain engines, a broken timing belt doesn't just leave you stranded. It can cause serious engine damage in a matter of seconds.

Here's why: your timing belt keeps critical parts inside your engine moving in perfect sync. In what's called an 'interference' engine, if that belt breaks, valves and pistons can collide. And those are two things you definitely don't want meeting each other.

The tricky part? Timing belts don't always give you a warning before they fail. They can wear from the inside out, which is why following your vehicle's recommended replacement interval matters.

Not sure when yours was last replaced or when it's due? Ask us!
We can help you figure it out before a worn timing belt turns into a much bigger repair!

Does your car drift to one side or the other when you take your hands off the wheel for a second?

If it's pulling left or right, that's your car talking to you!

Usually it means one of a few things: uneven tire wear, alignment knocked off from a pothole (and who HASN'T hit one of those lately), or shocks and struts that are starting to wear out.

The tricky part is these issues tend to sneak up slow. You get used to fighting the wheel a little and don't even notice anymore. But that pulling puts extra stress on your tires and makes it harder to react quick if you need to.

If something feels off, don't just live with it. Swing by your local Chloe's today and we'll take a look, check your alignment, and get you back to driving straight without thinking about it!
