24/7 Urgent Services - Battery Jumps, Lockout Service and Roadside Assistance

⚠️ A Quick Word on Our Hours & 24/7 Urgent Service 🌙🔧

We take massive pride in keeping Floyd County rolling, and offering urgent after-hours support is something very few independent mobile mechanics do.

To keep that lifeline open for people who genuinely need it, we have to draw a clear line between routine questions and a truly urgent situation.

Regular Business Hours (Call or Text):
🕒 Monday – Friday: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
This is our dedicated window for scheduling, estimates, parts questions, diagnostics, and general car advice. If you have a question outside these hours, texting or leaving a voicemail is always welcome—we check and answer them first thing every morning!

What 24/7 Urgent Service IS:
🚨 You are stranded on the side of the road, dealing with a critical vehicle breakdown, or in a situation that absolutely cannot wait until morning. When a failure leaves you stranded and needing immediate help, we answer.

What 24/7 Urgent Service IS NOT:
❌ Calling after hours to ask how-to questions, checking if a repair can wait until next week, or calling late just to bounce a general car thought off a mechanic.

When the business phone rings after dark, it pulls me away from sleep and family time under the assumption that someone is broken down and needs immediate help.

We love our community and we work hard for every single customer. We just ask that our after-hours phone line is respected and reserved strictly for urgent, immediate needs.

Thank you to everyone who supports our small business and keeps our schedule packed with honest, quality work!

📋 Skip the Greasy Pen & Paper: Your Own Digital Service Portal! 📱🔧

Let’s be real: when I’m out on a service call in Floyd County, my hands are usually covered in grease or holding a wrench.

Trying to answer a call and scribble down phone numbers, addresses, and 17-digit VINs on the back of a greasy receipt while leaning over an engine bay is a recipe for typos. That’s why we use the Customer Self-Intake feature built right into our shop management system, ARI!

This isn't a public calendar or complicated booking app. It is simply a secure, 60-second form we text or message directly to you to get your contact and vehicle details locked into our system.

(Check out the screenshot below to see how simple it looks!) 👇

What we need from you:

-Your contact details (name, phone, and address)
(Since we are 100% mobile and bring the shop to your driveway or workplace, an accurate address is essential for route planning!)

-Your vehicle info (Year, Make, Model, VIN, or simply your License Plate & State)
(This is required so we can look up accurate parts, fluid specs, and labor data.)

-What symptoms or repairs you need looked at

Why this helps you (The Customer Portal):
Once you submit your details, the system creates your very own Customer Portal. You get 24/7 digital access to your vehicle's full service history with Auto Shop On Wheels. Every estimate, invoice, and repair record we ever complete is stored in one secure spot for your records.

How the link works:

Private & Secure: Because each link connects directly to your new file, every link is unique and single-use. Once you submit your form, that specific link expires.

3-Day Window: Links stay active for 3 days. If life gets hectic and it times out before you fill it out, just holler and we’ll shoot a fresh one right over.

Got a warning light, a weird sound, or scheduled maintenance coming up?

Shoot us a text to our direct line with "Send me an intake link" and we’ll get you set up in 60 seconds flat!

Huge News for Floyd County Drivers: Flexible Financing Is Officially Here! 🚗💳

Car trouble never checks your bank account first. An unexpected breakdown, worn-out brakes, or a sudden check-engine light always seems to happen right when you need it least.

At Auto Shop On Wheels, we want to make reliable repairs as stress-free as possible. That is why we’ve upgraded our shop management system (ARI) to integrate directly with Stripe - which means we now offer flexible financing options, including Afterpay, Klarna, and more!

A quick shout-out and thank you to the teams at ARI Auto Repair Software and Stripe for making this seamless integration happen. Tools like these let small, independent shops bring big-league convenience straight to our customers' driveways.

How this helps you:

Fix it now, pay over time: Split your repair bill into manageable payments instead of taking one massive hit all at once.

Zero waiting rooms or awkward desks: No shady finance offices or dealership runarounds.

Everything is handled digitally and securely straight from your invoice on your phone.

Don’t compromise on safety: Get critical repairs, precision diagnostics, and maintenance handled today before a small issue turns into a catastrophic failure.

You still get the same honest, master-level work right in your own driveway - now paired with payment options built for real life.

🔧 Real Talk: Owning the Silence

If this page has felt a little like a ghost town for the last week and a half, I owe you guys an apology.
The unfiltered truth? I’ve been completely locked in on a massive project - a full engine rebuild on a Subaru. If you know anything about these boxer engines, you know they leave absolutely zero room for error. Between the precision timing, the heavy lifting, and the sheer focus it takes to do a job like that right, my energy had to go 100% into the wrenches.

When you run a family-owned mobile shop in Floyd County, you wear every single hat. Some weeks, the "Master Tech" hat takes up every bit of horsepower you've got left in the tank, and the phone has to take a backseat.

I’d rather owe you an apology for a quiet page than owe a customer an apology for a rushed repair.

The Subaru is wrapped up, the tools are wiped down, and Auto Shop On Wheels is officially back in the daylight. Thank you all for your patience and for supporting a local business that truly puts quality and honesty over a daily social media streak.

We are officially booking for next week and ready to get you on the schedule!

why do brakes shake when braking ?🛠️🚗

🛠️ The "Missing Mechanic" Report 🔍

If you noticed the page was a little quiet Monday and Tuesday, don't worry - I wasn't abducted by aliens (though after some of the electrical issues I’ve seen lately, I wouldn’t rule it out).

The Truth: I’ve been out in the Floyd County trenches. Being a mobile mechanic means if I’m not posting, it’s because my hands are covered in something that doesn’t play well with a touchscreen. 🧼📱

Here is a quick guide to "Mechanic Logic" for your Wednesday:

The 10mm Rule: 70% of my time is spent fixing cars. The other 30% is spent wondering where my 10mm socket went. It was just there. It has moved on to a better life. 🕊️🔧

The "YouTube" Special: "I watched a video on how to do this, but then I realized the guy in the video didn't live in the Rust Belt." (This is usually where the phone rings).

The "Ghost" Noise: The sound your car makes 24/7 until the exact moment I pull into your driveway. Suddenly, it’s as quiet as a library. 🤫🚗

The "Just One More Bolt" Lie: The biggest lie a mechanic tells himself. It is never "just one more bolt." That bolt has been there since the Clinton administration and it isn't planning on leaving without a fight.

In all seriousness, we’ve been wide open getting repairs done and staying on top of the schedule. If you’ve been hearing a "whacky" noise or your dashboard is putting on a light show, don't wait for the "YouTube" phase of the repair.

Give the pro a call and let’s get it fixed right the first time.

🛠️ Let’s Talk Shop: Transparency vs. The "Quick Quote"

At Auto Shop On Wheels, I pride myself on being a straight-shooter. When you call me for a quote, I’m not just throwing a random number at you; I’m walking you through exactly what your vehicle needs to be safe.

I had a call earlier that didn't go quite as planned. We were discussing a brake job - $375 for professional pads and rotors. As we got into the details, the client mentioned rust and the need to bleed the lines. In the Georgia weather, rust is a game-changer. I explained a $100 contingency fee (a "just in case" charge) to cover the extra labor and care needed when dealing with seized lines or rusty bleeder screws. My goal is to tell you the "worst-case" price upfront so there are zero surprises when the job is done.

Before I could finish the explanation, he hung up on me. 🛑📵

Here is the deal:

Transparency is Key: I’d rather lose a job by being honest about potential costs than "low-ball" a quote just to get in your driveway and then hit you with a hidden fee later.

Respect the Craft: Taking the time to explain a procedure is part of the service. If the price doesn't work for you, a simple "No thank you" goes a long way. Small businesses are run by your neighbors—not robots.

Quality over "Cheap": We don't cut corners on your family’s safety. If you want the job done right with high-end diagnostics and professional methods, that’s what we provide.

To our loyal clients who value the honesty and the "no-surprises" approach—we appreciate you! We’re booking up for next week and ready to give you the service you deserve.

🛠️ Filter-Free Friday: Recharging the Tools

No filters, no staged photos - just the unfiltered truth: The "Auto Shop On Wheels" team is taking the day off! 🛑🔧

We’ve had a massive week across Floyd County, from clearing "haunted" dashboards to keeping engines running crisp in the Georgia weather. To make sure we keep giving you 100% every time we pull into your driveway, we’re taking today to step away from the wrenches and spend some time off the clock.

The Game Plan:

Today: Closed for a well-earned recharge.

Saturday/Sunday: Handling family time and maybe a little more "destruction" on the office trailer.

Monday Morning: We’ll be back on the road and ready for your service calls!

Need to get on next week’s schedule? You can still leave us a message or shoot us a text at our business line. We’ll be getting back to everyone in the order received starting Monday morning.

🤪 The Whacky Side of Mobile Repair: The "Haunted" Door

(Since we missed Whacky Wisdom Wednesday 😬)
We hit you with a "Truth-Bomb" for today, but let’s be honest - sometimes this job is just plain weird. When you’re a mobile mechanic in Floyd County, you see stuff that a textbook could never prepare you for.

Welcome to the side of the job they don’t show you in the brochures! 🛠️🌀

Today’s Whacky Reality: The Ghost in the Machine
We had a call recently where every time the customer opened their door, the airbag light would pop on. But it gets weirder—the second I touched the accordion boot (that rubber neck between the door and the frame), the entire dashboard lit up like a Christmas tree and the windshield wipers started going full blast! 🎄🌧️

The "Whacky" Truth: It wasn't a ghost; it was a broken door wiring harness (only 2 wires!). Over time, all that opening and closing can snap those tiny wires inside the boot. When they touch, they send "mixed signals" to the car's computer, making it think it needs to wipe the windows and check the airbags all at the same time.

At Auto Shop On Wheels, we’ve seen the strange, the unusual, and the "haunted." No matter how weird your electrical gremlins are, we’ve got the advanced diagnostics to track them down and get them fixed right in your driveway.

Got a mystery noise, a "haunted" dashboard, or a whacky car problem you can't explain? Let’s get a set of professional eyes on it.

💣 Truth-Bomb Thursday: The "Corporate Disconnect"

Sorry for the radio silence yesterday, we will still post something whacky! Between the non-stop Georgia rain and a back-to-back schedule of getting our neighbors in Rome back on the road, the phone had to stay in the pocket while the tools stayed in my hands. But we’re back today with a truth-bomb that every car owner needs to hear.

When you call a massive repair chain, you're usually just a ticket number to a service advisor who has a sales quota to hit.

Here is today’s Truth-Bomb: In the big shops, the "office" and the "shop floor" are often in a constant battle. The office wants to sell more parts, and the tech just wants to fix the car. ⚙️💥

The Reality of the "Big Box" Shop:

The Sales Quota: Many corporate advisors are pressured to hit "per-car" averages, which is why a simple oil change often turns into a $1,000 "suggestion list."

The Disconnect: The person on the phone often has no idea what’s actually happening under your hood - they’re just reading a screen.

The Missing Link: You’re paying for the overhead of a massive building and a dozen employees who never even see your vehicle.

The Auto Shop On Wheels Difference:

We are a family-owned, mobile operation. When you talk to our office, you aren't talking to a corporate salesperson - you’re talking to a team that actually cares about your repair.

Teamwork: Whether you’re talking to me in the driveway or talking to Brittany to get on the schedule, we are on the same page. We don't "upsell"; we solve problems.

Direct Communication: You get the truth about your vehicle straight from the source.

The Personal Touch: We treat your car like it belongs to a neighbor, not just a line item on a spreadsheet.

We’ve cut out the corporate fluff so we can focus on what matters: Honest work and keeping the community on the road.

Tired of the corporate runaround? Come experience the personal side of auto repair.
