Car a/c tips…
This time of year around these extreme heat index temperatures we get calls that your car’s a/c isn’t performing as well as it used too. Few things to remember..
It takes 20 minutes to reach 130 degrees and around 60 minutes to reach 150 degrees inside your parked vehicle. Sunlight passing through the windows heats up the dashboard and seats and radiates the heat inside the cabin. Getting into your car and turning on the a/c to max will only circulate that heat until it can start to cool the inside components then the cabin air. So few simple tips you can do to help…
1. Park in a shade when possible.
2. Use a reflective windshield sunshade to help keep your dashboard cooler.
3. Tinted windows help.
4. Crack the windows 1/2 inch to vent the cabin.
5. Service your cabin air filter annually for good vent air flow.
When returning to your vehicle try…
1. Rolling all your windows down.
2. Start your engine and turn a/c on high.
3. Once all the hottest air has been flushed out. Roll the windows up and switch your a/c to recirculate.
We will be happy to check your cars a/c if you have any concerns. Call us for an appointment 918-427-3550.
