Check engine light on with code P0741? Here's the honest breakdown.

P0741 means the lockup clutch in your torque converter isn't holding when your car commands it. You'll feel it as worse gas mileage, a shudder around 45 mph, and higher RPMs on the highway.

The good news: it's often NOT a rebuild. Usual causes, cheapest first:
- Low or dirty transmission fluid
- Clogged filter or sticky valve body
- A failing TCC solenoid
- A wiring fault
- A worn torque converter

A slipping lockup clutch makes heat, and heat kills transmissions. Catch it early and it stays cheap. We are a transmission specialty shop, not a quick-lube guessing at it. No rebuild you do not need.
