Exciting News!

As of April 2022, I Drive Smart is now the only certified Virginia Driver Training School, Virginia Certified Online Driver Training School and Virginia Department of Education approved Correspondence School for Driver Education.

This triple certification permits I Drive Smart to offer students its proprietary at home, Self-Paced In-Class Driver Training Curriculum.

This interactive self-study computer-based program meets both the Driver Education in class requirement under the Virginia DMV guidelines and the Standards of Learning for Driver Education set forth by the Virginia Department of Education for Correspondence Schools.

This Self-Paced Curriculum provides an end-to-end solution for students to fully complete the required thirty-hour program on their schedule at their own pace. Students can train up to a maximum of three-hours per day according to Virginia State Code.

I Drive Smart’s state approved proprietary learning management system eliminates the need for a student to test in-person and allows for students to complete all training for the in-class fully on-line.

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for our operating area.

Freezing rain is forecast overnight and into Monday morning 1/17/2022. Poor driving conditions are expected during the day while clean up is underway.

ALL IN CAR TRAINING IN MARYLAND, VIRGINIA and THE DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA IS NOW CANCELED FOR MONDAY January 17, 2022.

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for Sunday January 9, 2022 for the early morning hours. Freezing rain with ice accumulation is forecast for our operating area.

Due to this weather event, in car sessions with a start time BEFORE 12 Noon are canceled.

Sessions with a start time of 12 Noon and later will hold as scheduled.

Ground temperatures will remain well below freezing in the early hours but are forecast above freezing by 12 noon.

The safety of our clients, their families and our Team are our top priority so we make this decision out of an abundance of caution.

Impacted sessions will be unreserved shortly for rescheduling as before.

Due to the precipitation overnight and the continued hard freeze forecast for the rest of the day all in car training for
Friday January 7, 2022 is canceled in Maryland, Virginia and the District of Columbia.

The roads in our operating area are presently being cleaned and treated, but the drop in temperatures makes for icy and hazardous driving for our students and instruction team.

Impacted sessions will be released and ready for rescheduling as before through the student user account.

Weather Alert

Due to the extended roadway clean up on secondary roads,
dropping temperatures and an updated Weather Statement from the National Weather Service, all in car training in Maryland, Virginia and the District of Columbia
for Wednesday January 5, 2022 is canceled.

The National Weather Service advises there is a potential for hazardous commuting conditions for the Wednesday morning commute. A period of light freezing rain is POSSIBLE Wednesday morning across our operating areas with a light glaze of ice possible on area roads.

The safety of our students, their families and our Team is our top priority and we make this decision out of an abundance of caution.
