I haven't announced it on here yet, but we got BIG NEWS!

We’re building something we’re truly proud of.

No expense has been spared in creating our new 2,200 sq. ft. facility dedicated to rust prevention and remediation.

From the 4-post lift and specialized application equipment, to proper washing, flushing and drying, professional lighting, containment, ventilation, and even laser rust removal — every decision is being made with one goal:

Do the job better.

This isn’t about becoming the biggest shop. It’s about continuing to raise our standard and giving our team the tools, environment, and processes to produce work we’re genuinely proud to put our name on.

For me personally, this is a huge milestone. Five Star has been built one vehicle and one customer at a time, and creating something that my family, our employees, and I can be proud of means more than I can put into words.

Most importantly, we’re building it to better serve the customers who have trusted us and made this growth possible.

We’re just getting started, and can't wait to show you what we are working on behind the scenes!

2004 Lexus LX470 — Preserved & Protected

This is exactly why we love working on older vehicles that are still worth preserving.

This ‘04 LX470 came in for our Complete Preservation Package. We thoroughly cleaned and prepped the underbody, rustproofed the hidden cavities and inner panels, and protected the underside to help slow existing corrosion and defend it against future Minnesota salt and moisture.

The owner also mentioned it hadn’t been washed in a while because it doesn’t fit through most car washes.

Good news — every Complete Preservation Package includes a complimentary post-wash. After the rustproofing is finished, we clean the exterior and remove any overspray before it leaves our shop.

Protect underneath. Clean up top. Ready to hit the road, rivers, and wherever else this LX470 is headed.

Minnesota road salt doesn’t care if your vehicle is brand new.

This 2026 Toyota Camry came to us before its first Minnesota winter — exactly when we want to protect them.

We treated the hidden inner panels, seams and cavities where corrosion often starts, then protected the underbody with our durable rustproofing and undercoating system.

The goal isn’t to cover up rust later. It’s to prevent it from getting started.

Every complete treatment includes:
• Thorough underbody prep and cleaning
• Inner-panel and cavity rustproofing
• Complete underbody protection
• Free annual inspections
• Affordable future touch-ups to stay ahead of corrosion

And we’re growing! Our new 2,200 sq. ft. Five Star facility dedicated to rust prevention and remediation is opening soon in Rochester.

If you’re planning to keep your vehicle, protect it before the salt gets to it.

This is the BEST time to rustproof a vehicle—before the rust ever starts.

This brand-new Toyota Camry Hybrid came in for our complete rustproofing and undercoating treatment, protecting both the hidden inner panels and underbody before its first Minnesota winter.

And soon, we’ll be doing even more of these in our new 2,200 sq. ft. facility dedicated entirely to rust prevention and remediation.

November is already filling up. Protect it before the salt gets to it.

We’ve been testing a new hybrid approach to rustproofing, and it gives us what we believe is the best of both worlds for Minnesota vehicles.

Inside the frame rails, rockers, doors, crossmembers, seams, and other hidden cavities, we’re still using WoolWax. That’s exactly where we want the oil content, creep, and pe*******on. It works its way into seams, overlaps, and tight areas where corrosion tends to start and helps keep those hidden surfaces protected.

On the exposed exterior of the frame and underbody, we’re using NHOU Boss Wax Hybrid. Instead of staying wet and oily, Boss Wax dries down to a much cleaner, more durable wax-like coating that holds up better on exposed surfaces and dramatically reduces the dripping and mess people sometimes associate with traditional lanolin coatings.

So the idea is simple:

WoolWax inside = maximum creep and pe*******on.

Boss Wax Hybrid outside = a drier, cleaner, more durable protective barrier.

Rather than trying to make one product do everything, we’re using each product where its strengths make the most sense.

That’s what vehicle preservation is all about — putting the right protection in the right places.

We don’t just spray JUST the areas you see, because rust forms in the surface and cavities you can’t see as well.

In this video you see how we get full coverage inside of all the frame holes with our 360° wand. Using our multitude of wands we can ensure the most thorough application possible of woolwax.

Woolwax doesn’t just cover rust, it stops it in its tracks!

Quick heads up about our online scheduling!

All appointments submitted through our website are appointment requests, not guaranteed bookings. We have this noted directly above the calendar, but I wanted to explain why.

Our scheduling software sees every team member as available full time, even though we have part time help that may only work a couple days per month. That means the system can occasionally show an opening when our two full time guys are already tied up on a large project.

That’s exactly why we personally reach out after every request to confirm the date and make sure everything works before the appointment is officially scheduled.

We’re currently booking about 7 weeks out, so unfortunately we can’t hold requested dates indefinitely waiting for a response. If we reach out and don’t hear back, we’ll refund any deposit/payment and make the opening available to the next customer.

We know everyone’s time is valuable, and the goal of personally confirming appointments is actually to prevent scheduling issues, not create them.

Thank you to everyone keeping us this busy and trusting Five Star with your vehicles. We genuinely appreciate it!
