e team. Team members participate annually in two international collegiate competitions: Formula SAE®, and BAJA SAE®. The competitions challenge students to budget, design, manufacture, test, market and race 2 purpose built racecars: an open-wheel, Formula 1 style vehicle, and an off-road, all-terrain vehicle. The events are sanctioned by the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE). Students acquire practical design experience, hands-on manufacturing skills, and in-depth technical knowledge by working on the vehicles throughout the year while collaborating with real-world companies at the forefront of racing innovation. The vehicles are built from the ground up as a team over a period of one year, then taken to the competitions to compete against over 130 other colleges and universities from around the world in a rigorous series of static and dynamic events to put the vehicle, its driver, pit crew, and marketing team, and the engineering behind the vehicle to the ultimate test. Judges for these events are veteran Automotive Engineers from a variety prestigious companies such as Honda, Toyota, Ford, Bosch, Cummins, Briggs and Stratton, and Polaris, putting students face-to-face with some of the most experienced Engineers in the industry. The competitions provide an appropriate forum for students to develop their public speaking, marketing, and networking skills alongside hundreds of current professionals and future engineers. Working on a true race team, students gain unparalleled real-word experience, aiding them in the transition from academic surroundings to professional careers. Eagle Motorsports boasts that all past dedicated members have acquired jobs in the engineering field even before graduation.
