We’re proud to announce that BMW Motorcycles of Detroit is now providing service for local Michigan State Police BMW RT-P motorcycles.

Our service department is staffed by three BMW Level 3 Master Technicians, with two technicians factory-certified by BMW to service Authority (police) motorcycles. That means your fleet is being maintained by technicians with the specialized training and experience these motorcycles require.

We welcome all local, county, state, and federal law enforcement agencies to visit our dealership and consider BMW Motorcycles of Detroit for both Authority motorcycle sales and service. We’re committed to keeping your officers safely on the road with the highest level of BMW expertise.

What an incredible two days with Shawn Thomas and Louise Powers, two amazing BMW brand Ambassadors, running seminars on BMW Tech, BMW garment and gear and adventure riding, followed by an adventure gravel ride with our staff and customers! It was so epic. We can’t thank Shawn and Louise enough for this incredible opportunity. As one customers stated: Just got home. Louise and Shawn are such a class act. It was truly a privilege to learn and ride with them. Thank you so much for inviting them and me and setting up the events. Well done 🤗🥰💕

Join us this Friday night from 5-7pm with BMW Brand Ambassadors Shawn Thomas and Louise Powers for an evening tech talk! Find out what your BMW motorcycle can do! And wait, there's more! Join us Saturday from 11am to 2pm with Shawn and Louise again for an adventure session! How is your motorcycle set up? Do you have the right equipment, navigation, ergonomics and training for the adventures you have planned? Do you need advice on how to travel internationally, what tools to bring, and how to find backcountry camp sites?

These are the questions Shawn and Louise are asked by both experienced and would-be Adventure Riders the world over, and for good reason; They have traveled to countries in every navigable continent! So whether it’s a month-long ride in Mongolia or the best trailside views in the Midwest, come talk with Shawn and Louise!

Stay with us and join BMW Detroit and BMW Brand Ambassadors Shawn Thomas and Louise Powers, former GS Trophy competitors on a gorgeous Michigan gravel road ride in the beautiful tree canopied roads of Oakland County. Bring your adventure bikes and enjoy some fun riding with two of BMW’s most popular Brand Ambassadors. We leave from BMW Motorcycles of Detroit at 3pm sharp. Helmets and long pants required to join us on this ride.

BMW Motorcycles of Detroit is extremely happy to announce that we have added some top-notch employees to an already amazing team! We have hired Ozzie Ortiz, a highly experienced BMW Master Mechanic (Level 3) and Police Bike expert to our team, with decades of wrenching and experience. Gary Latessa has moved from Parts to Sales Associate, bringing his twenty years of Motorcycle Sales expertise to the dealership, joining Jennifer and rounding out a great sales team! Ian Smith has joined us as Parts Associate and brings a wealth of parts and gear knowledge to the team. Chris Halty is our new Porter and Transport team member, a certified auto mechanic with a love of classic bikes. His positive and kind attitude combined with a wonderful work ethic rounds out an incredible customer-centric team! Come by and say hi today!
