Yes I know it's a Chevy. But it has a Summit 750 cfm carb on it, and it's a pickle so I made an exception. It was running very rich at idle and speed, plus loading up and miss firing a little.

I found that the factory assembled 08750vs had the power valves switched

Supposed to be 9.5 front and 6.5 rear, was 6.5 front and 9.5 rear.

An idle vacuum test indicated around 10 inches of vacuum at idle. So I installed 5.0 front and 4.5 rear as the secondaries come in quick on this one.

Also upped jets 2 sizes front and rear. Low end bog is gone, but it seems to run out of fuel at wot. Will most likely try richer jets and secondary spring tuning in the back next test and tune day.

I also have an 800 cfm Holley 4011 double pumper spreadbore to try.

Anyone a Kohler small engine expert? Got an 18 horse in a lawn tractor that starts and runs for 10 minutes then shuts off. If I spray carb clean in carb intake it stays running. Have replaced fuel pump have fuel at carb.

I'm guessing that the solenoid in carb is funky, And the engine heat is causing its internal resistance to rise shuting off fuel to carb, or it's mechanically screwed up.

Good thing I checked this Holley 80459-1.

Might be why it wasn't running right. Secondary metering plate wasn't sealed. Certainly didn't help.
