🎣 Tackle & Tides Tuesday on Baffin Bay!

☀️ Partly sunny, hot and humid conditions are expected today, with temperatures reaching around 94–95°. An isolated afternoon thunderstorm is possible.

💨 South winds around 12–17 mph will become southeasterly at approximately 17–23 mph this afternoon. Bay waters are expected to become choppy, so check current marine conditions before launching.

🪝 Tackle tip: On a windy Baffin Bay day, try a weedless gold spoon or a 3–4-inch paddletail for redfish. If the wind makes casting or feeling your lure difficult, moving to a slightly heavier jighead may help you maintain better control.

Many have wondered, few have asked…. Our RV park is where Kevin and Mark grew up …enjoying all that is Baffin Bay and the surrounding community. Thelma Lunaas was the matriarch of the family and Lt. Commander Pete Lunaas was a Navy fighter pilot who also trained jet pilots at the Kingsville Naval Air Station where he was inducted into the Hall of Heroes 2020.

🌅 Good Morning Baffin Bay!!

☀️ Saturday is looking mostly sunny and warm, with afternoon temperatures around 90–92°.

💨 North winds will be fairly light at approximately 6–12 mph. Bay waters should remain smooth to slightly choppy, offering pleasant conditions for much of the day.

🍂 Have you noticed how our fall sunrises and sunsets can look especially colorful?

When the sun sits near the horizon, its light travels through more of the atmosphere. Much of the blue light is scattered away, allowing warm shades of red, orange and pink to stand out. During fall, drier air and lower humidity following cool fronts can reduce haze and make those colors appear clearer and brighter. High, thin clouds can add even more color by catching the sunlight after the sun drops below the horizon.

This is an awesome read! It talks about how Kingsville’s heritage is intertwined with Baffin Bay.
Kingsville is just a 20 minute drive from our RV park, home to Texas A&M University, the King Ranch and the Naval Air station that trains half of our country’s naval and tactical jet pilots.

Congratulations to our guest this weekend. Jarrett Heflin caught this awesome oversized redfish from our pier! It was “CPR” catch…picture…release.
