Working on the old 1957 fe block going in the 58 edsel pacer

You sit and over think stuff or I do.

After I got the bracket close I started looking exactly where the bolt went.

Well it should have been a 7/16” bolt. But if I cheated and just went 3/8” there still decent meet left in the block
No water passage to hit.

So I kep it simply drilled a hole taped it 3/8x16 found a long bolt cut it down threaded it cut a spacer out of a pc of tubing I bought for spacer 30 years ago .

And it’s mounted.

Well I’m in the shop trying to get the 390 FE finished up for the Edsel. The one that tore up my hand lol.

Got the ac bracket done. And a new ac compressor.

Alternator bracket Part done need to make a pc for the back pivot bolt since there no hole in the block on the front gust the side. It’s also new 140 amp init gen 4 ford

And ps bracket should be here today. Got the new pump assembly.

Found some nice headers made for the Edsel from FPA not cheep by a long shot but these were on a 58 pacer so I know they will clear everything . It’s something I’m very happy to have finally found . And with the smaller collector for a little extra clearance. Was not wanting to run stock cast iron units engine kinda past cast iron probably past 2.5” collector also lol

Swapped around som pulley so I can now put a plain finish alt. On the 82 shop truck which I’ll admit is going to be way to nice for a shop truck you don’t do a frame off for a parts hauler. It’s nice most of these units use the same pulley type ford gm power master.

The chrome one can go to the OBS or a spare.
Right now the gm units not causing a problem not sure why the battery died a few weeks ago.

Well hands still not good next surgery is sep 10 but I can see again and was ok to work. So got 3 weeks to get something done.

Thought this would be simple but of course they sent a wrong bracket and gm alternator won’t fit .

I had a new gen4/ mustang 140 amp ford unit will need to swap pulley but that’s simple. The 140 amp will be needed with electric power steering and ac and the t- bird 🐦 game it draws 70 amps on high by its self.

Just waiting for the right ps pump bracket
