Big Rock Fire Update:

Firefighters continue to make progress on the Big Rock Fire near Kelly Canyon Resort. The fire remains at nearly 2,200 acres and is now 85% contained.

A huge thank you to the firefighters and first responders who have been working their tails off to protect our community and get this fire under control. We’re incredibly grateful for their hard work!

Crews continue to mop up remaining hotspots and strengthen containment lines.

BLM camping closures will remain in effect through Sunday, with closures also remaining in place at Cress Creek, Stinking Springs, Heise, and Kelly Canyon.

We’ll keep you updated as things continue to progress.

Bureau of Land Management firefighters have set up a base camp at Kelly Canyon to help coordinate the response to the Big Rock Fire. They are using our snowmaking pond as a water source to help battle the fires.
