New CAMTuning hybrid update.

Some hybrid Tacoma and 4Runner owners have noticed a hard first 1–2 shift after the vehicle has been sitting — usually a jolt or thump on the first drive of the day that disappears afterward.

I’ve been working on this with several customers and have now isolated the cause and developed a targeted correction.

The result is a much smoother first 1–2 shift without changing the normal transmission behavior once the vehicle is underway.

I’m adding this update to all future hybrid calibrations.

Existing CAMTuning hybrid customers who experience the first-shift issue can reach out for a free update.

A big thanks to the customers who are willing to test changes and report back. That feedback is a huge part of how I continue improving these calibrations long after the initial development is complete.

Ben in Texas just finished his TRD Pro tune on 93 octane, and the entire process was completed remotely from his own garage.

One thing I think a lot of people don’t realize is that if you already own a COBB Accessport, getting tuned is a very affordable upgrade. There’s no need to buy another device—just purchase the calibration, follow the instructions, and we’ll verify everything with a datalog review before you’re ready to enjoy it.

Another happy customer! Yovany’s Tacoma SR in Texas is officially dialed in.

The SR is an interesting truck because Toyota leaves considerably more power on the table than they do in the higher trims. The hardware is largely the same, but the factory calibration is much more conservative, which makes these trucks some of the most rewarding to tune.

This one received a custom 93-octane calibration along with the SXTH Element intake. The result is a truck that feels much more responsive, pulls harder throughout the RPM range, and is simply more enjoyable to drive every day.

Northern New Mexico WRX on the dyno today. Kept the mods simple and effective: stock intake, upgraded intercooler, and a 3-port boost control solenoid.

The result? Just shy of 300 WHP with smooth, repeatable power and a calibration built around the car—not just the parts. That’s a combination that’s hard to beat for a fun, reliable street car.

Remote or dyno, the goal is always the same: safe power, clean drivability, and making the most of what you’ve got.

Completely stock, 4,000-mile 2026 full-time 4WD Hybrid 4Runner on the dyno today. Both stock and tuned pulls were on 91 octane in locked fourth gear.

Stock: 253 whp / 374 lb-ft
Tuned: 324 whp / 471 lb-ft
Gain: 71 whp / 97 lb-ft

I left the first stock pull on the graph because these trucks consistently make less power on the first run. It made 244 whp, but I used the stronger 253 whp repeat pull as the baseline.

That first curve is also shifted left because I unintentionally started the sample earlier. Starting earlier can show more low-end torque, so it is something to watch when comparing dyno charts.
