Some of our favorite rides are done in the evening and with fall coming soon we took advantage of our beautiful summer evening to ride up to Heise and see the devastation of what one small lightning strike can do. To say this was heartbreaking to see is an understatement but to see the terrain and what the firefighters were up against it could have been so much worse. Our beautiful forest is mostly still intact, more sage brush, cedars and some pine were taken, but to see how close it came to homes and people’s property,we’ll take what was burned. How blessed we are to have such brave firefighters willing to put their lives on the line to save our favorite place to enjoy and live. THANK YOU is not enough. We will forever be grateful for the service of each one that fought this beast and won!
