🚗 South Carolina Auto Insurance Update: House Bill 4817: Insurance Rate Reduction and Policyholder Protection Act

NOW:
Auto glass repairs and replacements are $0 out of pocket because SC state law mandates auto insurance companies to waive the deductible for glass claims. A law that was set into motion in the 1980's due to poor conditions of South Carolina roads.

STARTING 1/1/2027:
Glass claims will follow your specific policy endorsement, meaning you may have to pay your deductible ($250, $500, or $1,000) before coverage applies for the glass claim you file to replace your windshield.
