Knuckle Busters Automotive is looking for an experienced automotive technician. We are looking for someone who can perform jobs such as replacing engines, transmissions, timing chains and belts, suspension, exhaust and other high skilled jobs. We have competitive pay along with vacation and bonuses. You will be required to work 40 to 45 hours a week and get weekends off. There's often opportunity to get overtime on the weekends, but it's not required. We also pay an hourly pay and not flat rate. When you got a vehicle that comes in with a misfire, and the vehicle does not have a misfire counter and will not set a code for a particular cylinder. Misfire you have to improvise. Hi, i'm equipped with some pretty cool equipment to be able to find these misfires. Who can find a misfire By putting a pressure transducer to read exhaust pressure and come up with a particular cylinder that is misfiring, I can. In this particular case I cannot access then, test the odd bank on this engine. Because it is covered by the intake manifold. So I back probed the number two cylinder to use it as a sync and install my pressure transducer in the exhaust pipe. To find out that cylinder number one is the culprit. The red waveform shows a low pressure during the number one exhaust stroke, which tells me that is the cylinder that is misfiring. The blue waveform is my sink telling me When the number two cylinder is on top dead center. And of course, you need to know how to read waveforms and understand what they mean.
