If you’ve been wondering what happened to North Stanly Automotive, we wanted to clear things up!

When the Harpers purchased the business in 2020, we chose to keep the North Stanly Automotive name for a while to make the transition easier for our customers. Over the last several years, you’ve also gotten to know us as Harper Automotive.

Now that you’ve welcomed us, trusted us, and become part of our family, we felt that it was finally time to retire the old DBA and move forward under the name that truly represents who we are.

While the sign and name may have changed, the ownership hasn’t.

The same people are here.
The same values are here.
The same commitment to honest, quality service is here.

Jonathan, Tim, Ruth, and the rest of our team are incredibly grateful for the support you’ve shown us over the years. Thank you for trusting us with your vehicles, your families, and your referrals. We wouldn’t be here without you.

So if you see Harper Automotive, know you’re still walking into the same shop you’ve trusted since 2020, just with a name that finally reflects who we are.

This heat has been no joke lately, and we just want to take a minute to say how thankful we are for our crew.

Working on vehicles is already hard work, but doing it in this kind of heat takes a whole different level of grit. We’re grateful for the long hours, the sweat, the patience, and the care they continue to put into every job.

And this goes beyond just our shop. Shoutout to everyone working in the heat right now: mechanics, construction crews, linemen, landscapers, farmers, delivery drivers, first responders, and every person doing the necessary work in less-than-ideal conditions.

Your hard work does not go unnoticed. Stay safe, stay hydrated, and know you are appreciated.

We will be closed the next two Saturdays:

📍 Saturday, June 27th — for paving work in our parking lot
🇺🇸 Saturday, July 4th — in observance of Independence Day

We appreciate your patience while we get our parking lot taken care of, and we hope everyone has a safe and happy 4th of July!

We will still be open during our normal weekday hours, so stop by and see us Monday–Friday from 8–5.

It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of one of our dear friends, Mr. William “Bill” Myrick.

We are grateful his family allowed us to share his obituary with our Harper Automotive community. While no post can fully capture a person’s life, we wanted to take a moment to honor Bill and the impact he had on those who knew him. His life was one of service, hard work, faith, and dedication. We were blessed to be able to sit and listen to the stories he had to share.

He had a way of making people smile and brightening the day whenever he stopped by. We will always remember his kindness, his friendly conversations, and the desserts he so thoughtfully brought to us over the years. Those small gestures meant more than he probably knew, and they are memories we will hold onto.

Customers become familiar faces around here, and over time, those familiar faces become part of the story of our shop and a forever piece of our hearts. We are thankful to have known Mr. Bill, and our hearts go out to his family, friends, and everyone who loved him.

Please join us in keeping his family in your prayers during this difficult time.

Last week, we traded a few wrenches for warm welcomes!

We had the privilege of welcoming some wonderful women from Stanly County Schools to tour our shop, learn more about what we do, and get a closer look at the automotive industry. We are so thankful for the work they do in our schools and for the way they help encourage and prepare the next generation.

Each of these ladies represents a different school within the county and works in career development coordination and trades, helping students explore hands-on career paths and opportunities beyond the classroom. We appreciate the role they play in connecting students with real-world skills and future possibilities.

A very special thank you to Sandie Brundin for connecting us with this wonderful group and giving us the opportunity to learn more about the ways Stanly County Schools is helping students explore career paths and trade opportunities.
