E60 M5 in for a custom dyno tune with an ESS supercharger kit.

The final result was 625 WHP from the S85 V10, with clean power delivery throughout the pull.

These cars already have one of the most unique engines BMW ever produced. Add a supercharger and the result is something special.

Really healthy numbers, smooth power delivery, and an all-around solid setup. Plenty left on the table if the owner ever wants to turn it up.

The Cummins-style drain works, but once you start bending it, the corrugated section can kink, bind, and create stress on the line.

Turbo or supercharger? Here’s the quick breakdown for the N52.

• Supercharger - Linear power, instant response, OEM-like drivability, and easier installation.

• Turbo - More power potential and higher efficiency, but comes with added complexity and heat management. Fun potential add-ons like anti-lag, multi-boost maps.

Neither is “better”. It depends on what you want from the car.

One week. Seven very different BMWs.

G80 in for brakes + Ti exhaust, 135i getting a clutch, full bolt-ons and custom tune, supercharged 128i getting a splined crankhub, E70 M57 turbo replacement, Z4 N54 on 19Ts for custom tune, E60 M5 SMG pump, and a built S38 M6 going standalone.

Never a slow week around here.
