Hey everybody, we r back & ready to go again. This was our 1st race in the new SCCA Time Trial series. Scca is wanting to include time attack cars as a part of their format on a national level & make a real series of such, which I think is a good idea. They r going 2 make this a part of the national points program & is going 2 b called the Time Trials National Tour which is going to consist of 9 races spread all over the country. I think that is awesome but 4 us it’s kind of a bummer cause there is no way we can travel the country to do all of these, It would b really cool cause we have a car that can compete w/anybody in the country, so we will hit the ones that we can. So as far as our race, things went well & only wish that there were more entries that we could run against. Car is classed as tt1 (unlimited) & if we spent an hour on it 2 get rid of 25/30 lbs we would qualify for tt2, but don’t want the easy pickins & want to run w/the fastest guys, which we r still the fastest by quite a bit. (2/3 seconds faster) than the rest of the group. There were some really good cars there & some that went faster than us that were not in our class, scca told them they couldn’t run in tt1 but would make a concession that they could race but wouldn’t be scored as a tt1 entry ( I think) so as it turned out we were really close to their time anyway. So on w/the race w/end. Everything went well, no serious issues, some brake problems that we got sorted quickly & long story short. We r the current track, class, fastest time & regional t/t winners for the last 2 years so why stop here. Again we set fast time, track & class record as before & our personal best time by almost a second. (these r records that we have set anyway) So I guess that means that we r the 1st SCCA T/T National Tour winner on the new format. so all in all it was a good w/end as you know the further you go up the ladder to achieve performance the harder it gets, financial, time, personal & on & on.
Need to recognize & thank everybody that helps us do this, product support, financial, emotional, physical, friends & on & on.
