Oktoberfest is making a festive return to The Village at Rancharrah on Sunday, October 11th, inviting families and friends to celebrate an authentic taste of Bavarian tradition right here in South Reno. The afternoon promises lively entertainment, delicious fare, and plenty of craft b**r, all set against the vibrant community backdrop of The Village.

Hosted by The Village Well and Armando & Sons, the event will feature energetic live music from First Take OomPah! band—the Oktoberfest and Bavarian-style show project formed by members of Reno's award-winning vocal jazz group First Take, featuring Rick Metz, encouraging guests to don their best dirndls and lederhosen for a spirited celebration. Admission is free, making it easy for attendees of all ages to enjoy a family-friendly atmosphere complete with classic bratwurst and sausages from Armando & Sons and self-pour craft b**r from The Village Well’s impressive selection of 30 taps. The Village Well is known as South Reno’s only self-pour craft b**r taproom, where guests can sample before committing and pair their pints with artisan pizza.

Oktoberfest, a centuries-old Munich tradition dating back to 1810, is celebrated worldwide with music, dancing, parades, and of course, b**r and sausages. Reno embraces this rich cultural heritage enthusiastically, bringing a slice of Bavarian festivity to the high desert each fall.

At the heart of the celebration is Armando & Sons, a unique culinary destination nestled within The Village at Rancharrah. Since its opening in 2022, Armando & Sons has become a go-to spot for food lovers, blending tradition and innovation as a full-service artisan butcher, retail pantry, and walk-up burger bar. Their famed gourmet offerings include expertly cut Wagyu, lamb, pork, and veal, complemented by specialty sausages and burgers available at their on-site eatery. Guests can also explore a curated pantry featuring rare international finds alongside sustainably sourced meats from trusted ranch partners.

Armando & Sons embodies quality and community spirit, making it the perfect complement to the upscale, local luxury experience of The Village at Rancharrah.

WHERE HISTORY MEETS FLAVOR

As the seasons change and Reno settles into the beauty of fall, there are places that remind us why this city is so special. Wild River Grille is one of them.

Set inside Reno’s historic Riverside Hotel building at 17 South Virginia Street, Wild River Grille occupies a remarkable piece of the city’s story. This riverfront location has welcomed travelers and locals for more than 150 years, evolving alongside Reno while maintaining its unmistakable sense of place.

The Gothic Revival building, designed by renowned Nevada architect Frederic DeLongchamps, has been part of countless Reno stories. Today, its riverfront veranda offers a beautiful setting to gather, dine, and enjoy the changing season.

With handcrafted seasonal cuisine, artisanal cocktails, and views overlooking the Truckee River, Wild River Grille brings together the things that make fall memorable: good food, good company, and a sense of place.

Located alongside the Riverside Artist Lofts, it is a destination where Reno’s history, arts, dining, and community continue to come together.

This season, take a seat by the river and savor a little bit of Reno.
