NHRA Drag Racing Set to Return to Coos Bay Speedway

The 2026 drag racing season at Coos Bay Speedway is preparing to kick off with NHRA-sanctioned 1/8-mile drag racing, pending favorable weather conditions over the next several days. If the grounds are able to dry out enough, the tentative opening weekend for the dragstrip is scheduled for March 20, 21, and 22.

Track crews will be monitoring conditions closely as we work to get the facility ready for racers and fans. Early spring weather on the Oregon Coast can be unpredictable, but we are optimistic that a few good dry days will allow us to move forward with opening weekend.

Racers should stay tuned for updates as the date approaches. We look forward to welcoming everyone back to the dragstrip for another exciting season of NHRA drag racing at Coos Bay Speedway.

Friday Night Drags
Kick off the weekend under the lights with high-energy Friday Night Drags. Get here early, feel the rumble, and enjoy the evening vibe as racers battle the strip.

Saturday Show & Shine + Drag Racing
Saturday turns up the heat with the Show & Shine featuring Bikes, VW Bugs, and Imports filling the front parking lot—each vying for Best in Show honors. Meanwhile, the drag strip stays hot with racing all day. It’s the perfect mix of clean rides and raw speed.

Sunday Bikes, Bugs & Imports Challenge
Close out the weekend with the ultimate challenge: Bikes, Bugs & Imports all take the track to compete for the big prize money. Who will walk away with the haul?

Good Food & Cold Drinks All Weekend
The On The Strip Food Truck is back and serving up fan favorites all three days—don’t miss the return of the Gyro, Philly Cheesesteak, and the Chicken Bacon Ranch on a pita. Pair your meal with something cold from the 7 Devils beer garden, open all weekend long and pouring local brews to keep the good vibes rolling.

Don’t miss it. Bring your ride, bring your crew, and come enjoy three full days of motorsports, car culture, and community at the coast.
