CELEBRATING 20 YEARS OF SERVICE
It’s hard to believe it’s been 20 years.
Heather and I were married in 1997. Our family grew quickly - Megan was born in 2000. Ashley in 2002, and Carson in 2005. Around that same time, we made a big decision that would shape the rest of our lives: to start our own business.
On April1, 2006, with a business license in hand and a lease on a 400 sq. ft. shop, Redmond Auto Service was born. Carson was crawling around the shop with us while the girls were at school, and Heather and I worked side by side…Before long, we leased the adjoining 500 sq. ft. space and continued to grow.
In 2008, we moved into a 2000 sq. ft. shop on Lake Road and made our first hire - Josh Yourston. From there, we kept learning and expanding our capabilities: alignments, tires, A/C, full-service mechanical work, and diagnostics. Along the way, we built lasting relationships with customers and welcomed incredible team members.
After years of planning, searching, and saving, we purchased our current location at 426 NW 6th Street in 2017. Since then, we’ve continued to grow - both in services we offer and in the strength of our team. Today, we’re proud to have a staff of 14, including Casey Dorning and Becky Herburger along with Tabatha, Kyle and Marilynn, who make up the team you now see at the front counter.
Many of our team members, including Casey, Kyle, and Josh, grew up right here - attending High School in Redmond and building their lives in this community. Local connection is a big part of who we are.
Our son, Carson also worked with us part-time through his high school years. After a semester at Eastern Oregon University and a brief time in the HVAC industry, it became clear how naturally he fit at Redmond Auto Service Tire Pros. With hopes of one day taking over the business, Carson rejoined our team on July 22, 2024. That evening, on his way home from the gym, Carson was involved in a motorcycle accident. On July 23, 2024, with Heather, myself, and his sisters Megan and Ashley by his side, he passed away.
With broken hearts, Heather and I stepped away from the business for nearly a year. Today, I’ve returned in a more part-time, supportive role. We are incredibly blessed to have that option - and even more blessed by the overwhelming support from our team, our community, our customers (who we truly consider friends), and our fellow members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. That support continues to help us heal.
Through this difficult time, we’ve also witnessed tremendous growth within our team. Josh, now with us for 18 years, leads the shop alongside Aaron (11 years) and Paul (10 years). Casey (13 years) continues to lead by example, and Becky (5 years) has earned her role as manager through her commitment and growth.
Anyone can buy equipment or a building - but building a team is far more challenging, and far more rewarding.
We believe a few principles set our company and team apart:
• A commitment to a drug-free workplace, including ma*****na
• Flexible schedules that support family life - sports, dance, vacations, and faith.
• Paid time off for all employees
• A 6% 401(k) match
• A self-imposed $20/hour minimum wage
• Health and Dental insurance eligibility for all staff
• Accountability - mistakes happen, and we stand behind our work, but dishonesty is never acceptable
• And yes… “all-you-can-drink-soda” and Costco memberships for our staff too!
Most importantly, none of this would be possible without you - our customers.
Our guiding principle has always been simple: Improve sales through improved service. That means no high-pressure tactics or misleading recommendations. Our goal is to provide honest, high-quality, and personal service that earns your trust - and keep you coming back.
As we celebrate our 20-year anniversary, we want to start by saying Thank You.
Thank you for trusting us.
Thank you for supporting us.
And Thank you for allowing us the opportunity to serve you.
Please like and share! We are kicking off a campaign to celebrate our anniversary. Keep a lookout for specials and remember to enjoy an ice cream on us when you stop in.
