Friday funday consisted of a lot of electrical diagnoses. Regen issues, truck stalls going down the highway and the hardest one of the day… brake lights stuck on the trailer and not working at all on the truck… Got them all taken care of.

For today’s quest. We searched to find the reason this unit would randomly illuminate the stop engine light and indicate the DPF was 100% full. After duplicating the issue we were able to monitor high crankcase pressure. After checking the health of all systems. It was found to be a faulty crankcase ventilation filter. A much overlooked service item and this one failed before its first service interval was due. Another fix in the books!

Raise your hand if you know what is wrong here…

This unit has had repeat aftertreatment issues. Everything tests as it should but continuously needs a regen even after the health of the engine and aftertreatment have been verified. We searched every possible cause of the issue and found possible contaminated fuel. The sorce for the contaminated fuel was a broken divider between the hydraulic tank and fuel tank. Pressurize one side and the other rises! At first glance the fuel looks normal. Pressurize the hydraulic tank and it instantly contaminates the fuel. It has been a frustrating project but we stuck to it and got it figured out!
