The Marina at Sheridan Lake is looking for a Marina Maintenance Person!
The Marina Maintenance Person is responsible for the daily upkeep, preventative maintenance, and repair of all marina infrastructure and waterfront facilities. This role requires physical labor, mechanical aptitude, and a strong commitment to safety and environmental compliance, especially around water and fueling areas.
This position can be a seasonal(April-November) or full year position, as well as a part time or full time position. We are willing to accommodate scheduling for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities
Dock & Infrastructure Maintenance: Inspect, repair, and maintain floating docks, piers, gangways, pilings, and cleats.
Facility & Ground Upkeep: Perform routine building maintenance (painting and light plumbing/electrical work).
Fuel System Operations: Monitor and service fuel docks, dispensers, and containment systems. Enforce spill prevention and environmental protocols.
Equipment & Vessel Care: Perform routine maintenance on marina rental pontoons, skiffs, and small engines. Maintain yard and maintenance equipment such as tractor, lawn mower, pressure washer, and hand tools.
Vessel Winterization: Shrink-wrap boats, flush and winterize marine engines, perform
Outboard motor oil changes, drain water systems, and properly store batteries for seasonal layup.
Safety & Security: Regularly inspect safety equipment (fire extinguishers, etc.). Assist in securing boats during severe weather. Monitor and report neglected or abandoned vessels.
Qualifications & Skills
High school diploma or GED equivalent.
Previous experience in general facility maintenance, carpentry, plumbing, or marine trades preferred.
Experience as an auto or marine mechanic highly valuable.
Ability to work safely in a waterfront environment with exposure to varying weather conditions.
Ability to operate heavy equipment and power tools (e.g., pressure washers, ride on mower, tractor).
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
Physical Demands
Must be able to lift or move heavy objects (up to 50 lbs).
Ability to stand for long periods, walk on uneven surfaces, climb ladders, and maneuver on and around docks and vessels.
