Grandma Jo is Rylan’s grandmother, and every spring she plants the flowers around the shop. She stops by each week to check on them and makes sure the rest of us are keeping up with the daily watering. We get compliments on them all the time, and she deserves all the credit!

618 students. 618 opportunities to build a career and a future right here in South Dakota.

The Build Dakota Scholarship continues to invest in students pursuing technical careers in some of the industries our state needs most. With 618 new scholars joining Cohort 12, these scholarships are helping students get the education and training they need to enter the workforce and build careers in South Dakota.

Black Hills Tire is proud to play a part in that mission. Since 2020, we’ve sponsored seven Build Dakota scholars and invested in students pursuing careers in automotive technology. We believe supporting the next generation of technicians means supporting the future of our industry, our communities and our state.

We’re also proud to have Tenise Chapman, co owner of Black Hills Tire, serving on the Build Dakota Administration Board after being appointed by Governor Larry Rhoden. It’s an opportunity to help support and strengthen a program that is making a real difference for South Dakota students and the industries they will one day lead.
