1968 Coronet Update - Final assembly time! Today Russ is working getting the new e-brake hardware installed and then will start on new brake lines to the Wilwood upgrade. The engine bay has been painted, engine and trans are installed, steering and suspension are installed, new fuel system, new heat and A/C, and the new disc brake kit has been installed. Once everything is plumbed, it'll be ready to start on the wiring!

Shop wrecker makeover!!!! Russ's old shop wrecker went down on him while pushing snow winter before last. So he decided it was time for a complete and over-the-top rebuild! He fixed all the sheet metal, put in a new tr**ny, went through the PTO, transfer case, and winches, built a big block for it, and literally replaced everything else. This truck is always busy moving cars in and out of the shop and is like a right hand around here, so it's truly earned it!

Hellcat Coronet Update! Several modifications were necessary to get the Ho**er Blackheart headers to fit (they are supposed to be direct fit but aren't). The customer is using the updated Borgeson steering box in a stock K-member to allow for more clearance than a stock steering box. This still doesn't allow enough room for the headers to fit the drivers side as the header runs directly into the steering box adjuster. Russ moved the steering box mounting bracket 3/4" to the driver's side. He also cut and moved the header at the fl**ge to gain clearance. These things were no small task!!
The motor mounts used are also Ho**er Blackheart, which were supposed to work with these headers. However, the motor mounts do allow for an installation without having to cut the firewall or floorpan. (The floorpan still needs modification, but it can be done without cutting). Posting this info in case it helps with anyone doing a or in a

First drive in over 40 years! The history: This was his first car, which was purchased from his uncle who bought it new. They went on their first dates in this car and recently celebrated their 61st wedding anniversary! Memories of late night card games and getting caught in deep snowfall, but the Olds always got them home. Yes, they even hauled a Christmas tree home in the backseat! This is what makes our job worth it. There are days that are frustrating, times we don't think we can figure something out or make it work. But this is what pushes us through those days like they never even happened.

While we are not known for restorations, we made an exception when the opportunity to work on this '53 Oldsmobile came along. The owners, the history, and this remarkable car have turned a job into an unforgettable and incredible experience for us. Credit for the interior and convertible top goes to Midwest Auto Interiors. Steve and Brandon did an incredible job and we highly recommend them!!!

Hellcat Coronet Update: The big goal of this swap was to get the engine and 8 speed automatic trans installed WITHOUT cutting the floorpan, as requested by the customer. It did take some "massaging" with heat and a hammer around the tunnel area but IT FITS!!! The engine and trans is coming back out as a lot more work will be done before final install. We will keep you updated!
