Some may have seen what happened today, EMS and Metro Fire Dept at the shop and the smoke!

Well what happened was an off occurrence, we had a customer who was a new customer, he came in and asked how much for a brake inspection along with some other questions, as we were building him a free estimate, we had another customer who was about to leave, come in and was letting the customer know his car was on fire/smoking heavily.

We rushed out with 4 employees with fire extinguishers, luckily, EMS was on a call and saw the smoke, they stopped to help, we got the hood open and fire was out.

Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District showed up within a few minutes and the hood wouldn’t open, assuming the cable melted due to extreme heat. They had to saw the hood open.

The fire was already out but they made sure it was, we’re thankful for EMS and Sac Metro Fire Dept for responding quickly. Our extinguishers are made for automotive related fires, so we were and still are fully equipped so.

Unfortunately the car is totaled, we have no idea why or how the fire started in the engine bay, as we have never touched the car and we just thought he was in for a brake inspection. We’re glad the future customer is okay and it didn’t happen while driving which have may have been way worse for himself/passengers and other motorists.

We honestly have no idea why or how it started, we’re just glad the customer and others are okay and safe.

If you have any burning or smoke smells coming from your vehicle, please get it looked at as soon as possible. It only takes a small spark from a short and/or a fuel or oil leak to cause major and catastrophic issues.

We’re glad that everyone is okay and nobody was hurt.

If you have a car that has a burning smell, smoke, plastic burning smell, etc. Get your car towed, do not risk driving a potentially life hindering situation, for yourself or others. We want everyone to be safe, which is why we provide excellent customer service and fair prices and FULL transparency.
