Pack Motorsports - Baja SAE

We are a non-profit student organization which designs, builds, and races two distinct types of race

We are a student-run organization at North Carolina State University in Raleigh, North Carolina. We design, build, and compete with two different forms of race cars in annual collegiate competitions sponsored by the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE). Our program is housed under the College of Engineering at N.C. State, but any member of the student body, graduate or undergraduate, can be a mem

ber regardless of your major. The unique opportunity to design and build a new race car from scratch every year gives students a wealth of hands on engineering experience working on something they enjoy. Students studying engineering are given a chance to apply what they learn in the classroom and develop important skills that are applicable in the automotive engineering field. Several graduates involved in Wolfpack Motorsports have proceeded on to jobs in the auto-racing industry for teams such as Hendrick Motorsports, Richard Childress Racing, and Penske Racing. Many graduates have also gained jobs in the automtotive engineering field working for companies such as Carerra Shocks and Honda Motor Company.

This past week we had the opportunity to use a wheel force transducer. We had a very successful testing cycle collecting a whole host of different data points to help us validate our design decisions! We would like to thank for their generous sponsorship as we look towards manufacturing our new competition vehicle!

We competed in our first competition with our 2025 vehicle Stig! We have achieved an 8th place overall placement! This marks an historic moment for our club at it is our first top 10 since 2016. We wouldn’t be able to do anything without sponsors and donations, and we’d like to give a major thank you to our Platinum sponsors this year! SKF supported many of our bearing needs for our gearboxes and suspension. With Autodesk’s support, we were able to purchase stock, generatively design hubs, and manufacture our first 5-axis upright. Elite Tube and Fab sponsored our frame and suspension tubing! Finally, Corvid Technologies helped us with shocks from Afco Racing.
