This notice is intended to remind boaters of their responsibility under Michigan law to operate their vessels safely and responsibly. With the current high water conditions, boat wakes can cause significant damage to shoreline property, docks, and other boats. We are asking all boaters to use good judgment, be respectful of lakefront residents, and minimize their wake whenever possible.

We also want to help address some misinformation that has been circulating. We cannot enact a lake-wide Slow, No Wake restriction on the lakes, and there is currently no Slow, No Wake order in effect. Rumors suggesting otherwise are not true.
