INCOMPETENCE COULD HAVE RESULTED IN BLOWN ENGINE. I purchased a brand new set of Big O tires along with an oil change. I only have 40,680 miles on my truck and only 911 miles since the work was done. I decided to check my oil before heading out on a 1,100 mile trip tomorrow and was surprised to find no oil on my dipstick. My truck takes 0w-20 synthetic oil so I ended up buying two quarts before oil showed on the dipstick. I then checked the other fluid levels and my windshield wiper tank was empty. At that point, I checked the receipt from BigO and it showed they put in 5 quarts of 5-30w. I checked my manual and my engine has a capacity of 8.5 quarts and required oil is 0w-20. No wonder oil didn't show up on my dipstick. I was very lucky and didn't take off on my trip as severe engine damage could have occurred. After 911 miles without adequate oil level, it may have already sustained damage. I called the store and they said to bring it in. The guy looked at the invoice and they had put the incorrect motor size on the receipt, which required the different oil and capacity. They said they would go ahead and change the oil at their expense. I asked for reimbursement of the oil I bought and put in earlier in the day, but they just ignored my request. Not once did they apologize for their mistake. I asked the guy about their normal oil change process in regards to topping off the other fluids and they said they did. They didn't do it in my case or my windshield wiper tank wouldn't be empty. I had used BigO when I lived in the Phoenix area in the 90s and had always been impressed. Maybe the store I used was a one off, but I will never go back to this particular store. I am wishing now I had purchased my tires at Discount Tire like my friends recommended. After they finished changing the oil, they said they would give me 1/2 off my next oil change. I wasted nearly 4 hours of my day that I needed to get ready for my trip; spent $24 on oil; and hopefully don't have damage to my engine after driving 911 miles without 3 quarts of oil I should have had. What a joke! The owner still hasn't responded to my reviews on other sites.
